    Hammer and frogspown ? Touching?

I wouldnt advise it, they could fight each other at night when their sweeper tentacles come out. The sweeper tents on a hammer can reach out to a foot from their skelaton in some cases.

    Christmas wrasse issues

This is the best shot I could get of her. Sorry about the bubble on the display. Just got a new cone skimmer in my sump and breaking it in. I'll give it a few more weeks see what happens. I'll even add a few replacements but this time in the cover of night when she's buried herself.

    Christmas wrasse issues

I recently set up my new 55g which will eventually be my new reef once I get my new lights. I added a 5" Christmas wrasse to it (second fish) that came from one of my friends tank that he had to tear down cause he got orders to Japan. Any who, I observed the wrasse in his 46 bow front for a...

    My 28g Nano Build

1/2" tubing is like 95 cents a foot at any hardware store and as far as the elbow it should be in the same section. You just have to see what size your bulkhead is and then if it's threaded or a slip joint

    My 28g Nano Build

For the nano cubes I would say either a mj 600 or 900. It fits in the back perfectly and runs off the pre-existing 1/2" tubing.

    New saltwater setup

No just my tomini tang an Christmas wrasse. I don't think having corals would have any influence on it. You shouldn't be dosing your tank with anything if your doing soft corals just FYI. Your salt mix should compensate for lost minerals during water changes

    New saltwater setup

My new 55g set up took 3 months to have any diatoms and they just showed up in my fuge.

    New saltwater setup

Your levels are good. You could try a few basic softies if this is your first go at saltwater. Maybe some zoas or green star polyps. Kenya tree as well. Just be careful if you do get Kenya tree or gsp as it grows like a weed. Also keep your nitrates in check with weekly water changes and keeping...

What lighting are you running? How big is the tank? What are your water parameters? And livestock load?

    my mind is cloudy

As water evaporates from the tank. The salt in the water is more dense causing it to remain in the tank water while the reg water evaporates off. Causing your specific gravity to raise. Rule of thumb is do fresh water when toping off your sump. The tank will remain a constant level in water as...

    My 28g Nano Build

I'm guessing your talkin about the birds nest and staghorn on bottom? If so high light and high flow. And surprised your doing sps so soon. also try to keep them out of the sand while acclimating them to your light as the Sand could potentially cause the bottom polyps to die and bleach off.

    Help Please

Better yet what company makes your test kit? Based on that can get you better answer. If its a API test kit. You want your nitrate as close to yellow as possible as nitrates above 20 can be toxic to corals and inverts. Ammonia should be a goofy off yellow (snot green) and phosphate should look...

    My 28g Nano Build

Clownfish will usually fight for the first few weeks when introduced to a tank together. One will eventually become the dominant femal and the other the male. Youll know the change is complete when one gets bigger than the other and they tend to follow each other around every where. Your tan...

    my mind is cloudy

Just make sure to always use RODI no matter what. Its best to start now to avoid issues with phosphates and algae breakouts down the road.

    my mind is cloudy

Sumps are pretty expensive no matter where you go especially for ones rated at that tank size. If you dont want to build your own maybe try Eshopps sumps out, there economy friendly and as basic as they get. Or go another step up and go to a aqeon proflex. Even better is if there's a plastics...

    Help Please

^ +1 Are you doing a reef with SPS? If not you dont really need to check your calcium, alk or mag. The salt mix should be enough to maintain basic soft and LPS corals. From what your saying now you should be worried about your Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate and phosphate levels

    Sump advice needed

You could run into issues as far as the rubble rock creating nitrate issues. Might suggest a filter sock in its place to catch any detrius that falls down the overflow. The skimmer looks like its in a good place and the next section could be used as a fuge or if you wanted to go a little more...

When you scrape bubble algae off rocks it usually breaks open the bubble releasing hundreds if not thousands of new bubble algae spores into your system. The best way to do it by hand is with a scalpel (you can buy these at Walmart at the pharmacy section) and some 1/4 hose. Just cut the base...

    Coral only Nano

Aww I'm sorry didn't know about that hick up when I gave you the link to get the pump. The clams could have come from the farm but the sponge could have come from the live sand. Or did you use any live sand or rock? My live rock and live sand came with sponges. I had pineapple sponges growing in...
