Does anybody know if it is necessary to sit the tank on polystyrene to stop the base of the tank from cracking? Fluval say that you don't but iv had experience of bases cracking thru not sitting them on polystyrene Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

Will my Hygrophila polysperma survive in the water column like this (see pic.) my geo's keep uprooting them and they end up getting tangled around my bog wood but I think I quite like it? Scruffy looking. But will they survive like this?

Haha I like it! Unfortunately the little filter is 1 of those elite stingray filters and my big filter has pretty large pieces of foam in it so unless I start hacking away at it with some scissors I doubt there's much chance of it fitting lol

Yeh it's a good idea and I'm going to do that with the 100G I'm setting up (eventually) I would do that with this but the filter for the 8G has quite specific media and I don't think media from the 30 will fit

Ah right, is there a way to check if it's fully seeded? Maybe put it in the new tank after 2 weeks of being in the cycled 30g and test ur water after a few hrs or a day maybe or do u need some form of waste?

I'm setting a 8gallon betta tank up and iv put my filter that I'm using for the betta tank into my 30G to try and get the bacteria I need to grow in the media, but what I want to know is how long does this process normally take?

Has anybody ever seen this before? My female swordtail is twisting her head to the left and it's effecting the way she swims. It looks like her spine is bent. The photo isn't the best but u can kind of see wt I mean

The thing with zebra danios and betta's tho is the difference in tank size that they need, I'm assuming that the fella who has the betta has him in a sub 20 gallon tank, maybe a 10 gallon? where zebra danios need 30 gallon plus because of how free swimming and active they are

The orange tailed fella is who I believe to b male and the little dark coloured 1 I believe is a female???

I wouldnt use gravel as turtles will eat it, I prefer sand rather than no substrate at all, it jus looks better IMO

Hi all, 3 weeks ago I got 1 male apisto and 4 females for my 30G community tank and for some reason the male constantly harasses 1 specific female and leaves the rest alone! Is this normal behaviour or should it concern me?
