    Is this red slime algae?

I have a turkey baster I use for feeding the anemones and blowing off the rock. It doesn't blow off though. I'll leave it be. Thanks!

    Is this red slime algae?

If I use a tooth brush it does. But when I blow off the rock and do a water change it stays on. I'll prob just scrape it off.

    Just broke down my tank

Had the same prob too with the iPhone app. Update the app in the store and it'll work. Tank is doing much better now that the crab is gone.

    Just broke down my tank

Yeah. My rock work is not looking that great right now. Have 2 anemones that made it hard to restack. Once they move around again I'll redo it.

    Just broke down my tank

Had a red mithrax crab from **** in my tank. It was eating snails at first then moved onto my sandsifting star fish and large brittle star fish. Killed that. Was nipping at my bubble anemone. And I just added some small ricordea and it ate one of the little orange ones. That was the last straw...

    Hair algae control?

I used marine algaefix With success. Its a biocide and won't kill anything else besides hair algae. It's the exact same thing as fw algaefix. So get whichever is cheaper. But I used that with the refugium. For full disclosure. I also have been using purple up and that stuff works!

    Hair algae control?

I have a 29g and just got done with a bad hair algae outbreak. Only thing that solved it was adding a refugium in the back with chaeto. I have compartment in the nanocube for this and I just got the JBJ led refugium light for it. Solved the prob. In a week.

    Fire shrimp

I have a fire shrimp and one peppermint shrimp. They get along fine. The fire shrimp chases the peppermint off from his side of the tank but that's it. I'm panning on adding a goby and a red pistol shrimp soon.

    Need help picking fish

They do look alike and I am a novice to this hobby. I got the other from my lfs and this one from Petsmart. So, it is possible I got a crazy camel shrimp bent on tank domination! Oh well, pistol shrimp are nice right?

    Need help picking fish

Well the fight of the peppermint vs the bubble anemone is over. Peppermint was dead this morning and anemone was all shrunken up. Hope the anemone lives. Kind of glad that shrimp is gone she was crazy aggressive to everything in the tank. The other peppermint doesn't bother anything.

    Need help picking fish

Had not heard of a pistol shrimp till now. Really cool. I have 2 peppermints and a fire shrimp now. I may take the peppermints back. One is crazy aggressive and picks on the anemone and has even eaten a few crabs. They are not under fed either. This one is just mean!

    Need help picking fish

I have a 30 g JBJ nano with LED pro lights. 30 lbs of live rock, one green bubble anemone and some ricordea. Tank is now 7 months old and doing well but I need fish in it. What can I get? I really want 2 clownfish and a yellow goby. Is this ok or can I add something red or blue to the mix like...

I will check out those corals too. I have led light and the green bulb moved to the side under a rock so don't know if it was too bright or what.

    30g ideas

I don't have any corals yet. Was going to add some soft ones and some ricordea or however you spell that. The green bulb was recommended by lfs and I was going to add 1 pink tip anemone soon. The shrimp should be fine. My peppermint ate 2 little blue ones the first day I put them in but has...

    Peppermint shrimp eating crabs

I have 2 peppermint shrimp and so far they have eaten 2 of my small hermit crabs. Will they eat the bigger ones too? They just pull the little ones out of their shell and go to town! I thought they were compatible from what I read online.

    Betta bowl looking good

Sounds like I have some shopping to do this weekend! Thanks for the pointers guys. Got any advice on good plants to replace the non aquatic ones?

    Betta bowl looking good

Another blog I have been reading said that neons in schools over 5 would eat the Betta! So we kept it to 4. I think we'll prob upgrade soon though. The planted tank is cool. As far as bioload the tank is well cycled and I added some extra carbon. But we'll see you're prob right.

    Betta bowl looking good

Just started this bioorb. Planted it somewhat heavily for a 4g. It has one Betta and 4 neons. Don't know if the little bioorb light can keep these plants alive. But we'll see!

    New to Saltwater

I have a Remora skimmer too. Awesome product. Water is crystal clear. I don't have much room for a refugium so I have been using the bioballs carbon, pottery, and foam for filtration.
