Each bag is 40 lbs. They say it's about 90lbs per cubic foot. There's several sandbed calculators on the web that you can input your dimensions and that 90lbs/CF to see what you want.

I guess what I really mean is "water safe". I've had other cheap plexiglass that warps when in moist conditions for an extended time. I don't want to have to tear out all my equipment and replace the tray if it warps because of water.

I was just looking at these at the LFS. I have both FW & SW. How hard would it be to transplant it later when it needs more salt content? How would I do that to acclimate it? A seperate tank that I do a SW drip into? TIA

The glass aquarium probably shouldn't be moved with any significant weight in it. I wouldn't move it with the sand/water on the bottom. You'd probably either crack the glass or seals quite easily if you didn't support it well.

I've read in other posts about these LOA lights. What models are they and why are they used over the "usual" aquarium lighting. Do they throw the right light? TIA
