Ya I've read that the salinty is not exact everywhere.. The red sea is is 1.035 or 1.036. I think I will run it at 1.021.. From the reading I have done it says that stability is much more important than the actual number..

I setup my QT whenever i need it and take it down when Im done with it. I have an aquaclear hang on filter that I keep the sponge for it in the sump for the DT when its not in use then just fill up QT tank and put sponge into HOB filter.. I also do 20% water change every 3-4 days..

Ya you need to give them time to break in. I have a Skimz skimmer and it took just over 2 weeks to break in but it works like a dream now..

From what Ive read I see varying recommendations for minimum tank size for a yellow tang.. As small as a 55 gal up to some saying minimum size is 180 Gal... From most sites I feel the 4ft long thing is the guideline so they have some good swimming room..

I dont think that will happen Tomchong22. The water that overflows has to be pumped into the tank so it can overflow.. Too strong of a return pump can pump the sump dry or overflow the main tank but dont think you would overflow the sump.. I drilled my 90 gal and designed my own overflow...

Its not a bad idea to keep 1 heater in the main tank.. If the power ever goes out and for some reason the return pump in the sump doesnt restart then atleast the main tank water will still be heated. I have that setup, 1 heater in the DT and one in the sump..
