Figured it out thanks. i used two straws and made it so the duckweed cant get into the stream.

So I forgot the key aspect of duckweed being a floating plant and it being pushed down by the filter. will it settle over time or what should i do?

Same here, walked into a pet store not known for fish and couldn't resist! at $25 they are a bit pricey but Its more unique than anything else ive seen available for me.

In my opinion absolutely. I have heard stories of them eating what ever fits in their mouth so the neons may become an issue. Mine takes no interest in the tetras in the tank but only time will tell!

Wow i read that completely wrong i swear i know more than that LMAO i would recommend you look into Rainbow cichlids, much more peaceful stay a little smaller.

i feel like this might help you understand cichlid behavior a little better, edit: not the video i thought it was, there was one by Nat geo that was really good but i cant find it.

I would advise against africans in a tank that size, if you are absolutley set on africans i would look at some shell dwellers. Edit: :facepalm:

One can only guess, many "Assorted Africans"' are hybrids, and not really being an African expert i can only say that the orange one is a Red Zebra.
