I have a 150 Cichlid tank, established for 1 year. It has black gravel. I just noticed the other day some white specks on the top of the gravel. ?? Fish all seem fine. No ich anywhere. Is it a fungus? Calcium or salt? They are pretty much scattered throughout evenly. I tried to attach photo.

How do I get the dirt out of my wet/dry bottom? There is a lot of debris in the box (where the pump then sucks it up into the tank) and I'd really like to clean it. Is it just dirt, or bacteria or something I'm not supposed to touch?
