I'm looking into getting some neon tetras to (re)stock my daughter's 10 gallon tank. (We just lost our molly.) I have read 6 is a good number as they are schooling fish, and with a 10 gallon I don't think I should add more than that. Thoughts? Would a 10 gallon be ok for 6 of these fish? And...

I'll have to look up an image, but that might be what I have (MTS). They're super tiny and have the pointed shell. It's just weird that they appeared so suddenly! I may try the lettuce leaf (or cucumber) just to see if I can get them all in one place to see how many there are.

I know...I made this mistake shortly after stocking the tank and before the cycle had completed. Learned the hard way there! Thanks for the comments. I'll just rinse it with tank water for sure, then, next time I do a water change.

This morning I noticed one of our 2 mollies was plastered to the filter intake. I thought she was dead, but then she gave a little gulp. I gently pushed her away and she detached and started swimming...a bit unsteadily, but now she seems fine. Strange. She hasn't seemed ill or lethargic...but...
