My 125 gallon Discus tank and DIY stand.

She's almost done! I got the wrong hinges, so doors are not attached yet.

Probably not raise them. The pair eats the eggs every time so far.

My 125 gallon Discus tank and DIY stand.

Everyone moved over on Saturday. Going bare bottom and plants in containers for now. Easier to keep clean and the bottom is tan color like sand. The back has multiple compartments. The first on either side I have existing filters, new filters to catch debris and one of these has one of my...

My 125 gallon Discus tank and DIY stand.

I used screws. Lots of screws. The stand gets its strength from the 2x4s that rest between the upper and lower frames. It gets dimensional stability from the plywood attached around it. Hasn't fallen apart yet, filled it up Saturday. Moved everyone over, with existing filter media, My...

My 125 gallon Discus tank and DIY stand.

I thought I would start a new thread for the new tank and stand. My plan is to keep the AquaIllumination led lights for now as well as my controller, heater, ATO. I'm building the stand in place. Next step add plywood everywhere.

Framed out the stand. What a beast. I'm going to add plywood bottom, sides and top, paint and then get tank on it and cycling while I finish trim work to make it pretty. It is a pentagon shaped tank, 36"x36x30" 125 gallons.

    My 194g Planted Discus tank

Some spoiled fish are getting a new setup! The flow in the bean system is too much for them, and the neon keep taking a ride over the overflow. I am building a stand/cabinet for it to sit on. 125 gallons, self contained system, so no sump below, just the overflow system behind it.

    My 194g Planted Discus tank

Thanks! My discus were raised in German tap water, I believe the pH was higher than my pH is now. I have wanted Discus for a long time, and I want to keep them alive, so for me that meant getting them from a source that had similar water than me. I have the tank on constant 2 gph in/2 gph...

The rams have laid more eggs. This time daddy is letting mommy help him defend the eggs. They both take turns watching over the eggs. The fry from the first batch are swimming around like crazy in my make shift tank, it's a gallon jar inside my qt. with an airstone, filter material from dt...

The pair. The male protected the eggs, I stole a few with a baster. He attacked anything that came close to his eggs. They started hatching within the 24-48 hrs. Not sure they will grow, but I'll try.

    Refinishing acrylic

I use the Novus steps 3-2-1 on outside and steps 3-2 on inside after sanding. I just wipe really well after. No problems with tank/water after. You can't see anything smaller than 1500-2000 sandpaper lines inside when tank is full.
