    Slow Sinking Discus Food suggestions

I need SLOW sinking pellets for my Discus. They are very use to eating Aquadine food but my LFS retired and closed and that product is no longer available here. I have tried floating and sinking, but they have become very accustom to slow sinking. Apparently floating is beyond their...

    Long Term Lowering Ph

How are people long term lowering their Ph? I tried Maylasian driftwood. Once it's done leaching, it done. I need a best solution for my 125 gallon. I have a canister. Peat?

    Crypto pro 20 and PH

Finishing up a round of Crypto Pro 20 for Ick. I checked my PH today and it was up from 6.8 to about 7.2. Does anyone know if the Crypto can alter PH?

    Canister Media Advice

So, I have my first Canister and I'm trying to get a deeper knowledge of filter media. I've read the various sales pitches for various media. According to the pitches, you can't live without any of this stuff. Besides Bio Balls, what is the absolute, must have media for the absolute best...

    Foam & cloudy on surface

Is there an easy DIY to fix my funky surface? I sort of assume a protein skimmer but I need to hold off buying for a few months, so the wifey doesn't get grumpy with the month I've spent on this tank in the last few weeks. Some of it is sand. Any ideas how to fix this ?

I started my 3D background tonight...

It looks really great. I'm pretty much pleased with mine. I wish I had put the filter intake and output differently.

    Air in a Canister Filter

Hmmm. Thanks. It isn't so easy to get behind mine. I think I'll try something similar and put more water in to see if it's a problem where my tubing connects to the intake. More water should submerge the beginning of the intake piece. It's an adjustable solid tube

    Air in a Canister Filter

I have a Fluval FX-6 canister filter which I think I like. This is the first canister I've used. It resets itself each day and purges a lot of air. Any ideas on where the air might be coming from? I do not have a bubbler going.

    GBR sex?

Thanks to the both of you. For my learning benefit, what are you seeing that makes you think females? The shape of the head?

    GBR sex?

I found two German Blue Rams at my LPS and bought them yesterday. I'd never seen them there before. Pretty much, if they aren't Guppies, common Tetras or Frank-in-fish, they aren't carried. Long story short, I've read other posts on the subject and I studied websites and I'm still clueless...

Wanted: Looking for easy plant cuttings

Thank you but I have already bought some from someone else.

    Styrene Background Heaters

Finished, with a ton of flaws. The worst is the seam on the right didn't match up well during installation. Picture is without water. It now has water in it and hasn't floated out yet.

I started my 3D background tonight...

Silicone is what I'm planning on using but I'm not overly impressed with how well it holds two pieces of styrofoam together. I was wondering Sigpi906's intention. I went back and drilled 1" shafts in mine that I plan on filling with sand to help hold it down.

Wanted: Looking for easy plant cuttings

For the past 3 months I've been trying to get my 125g up. Home remodeling, work... It's up now and I am looking for easy lower light plants. Anyone have cuttings? References will be checked.

I started my 3D background tonight...

How are you planning to attach it to your tank? I am building a similar background using Drylok. Tonight will be my 3rd coat. I keep coming back to worrying about it floating out.

    Pregnant Platy help

A bit of a spin-off question to your post. Do you have other females Platies in your tank? If you have four males with the one female, They will harass her to death. From your pictures, I would guess in the next day or so, fairly soon.

    Tropical Fish Reference Websites?

Any suggestion for quality fish reference websites? Somewhere out there, I know there has to be a site with more than vanilla information on just the most common tropical fish. All Cory's are not the same. This mythical site would know that and have information on different ones. This...

    Having tanks upstairs

I studied this same question and had the same reservations. You can look in the attic or most newer multi floor homes have storage areas where you can see the floor joists. Make sure they are at least 2x6. It is best to place the aquarium across the joists and not parallel. What I learned was...

    3D rock back ground

I'm in the process of finishing mine. From my experience using silicone, it comes off glass very easy. I'm on the other end of the spectrum, I'm concerned mine will be so buoyant, the silicone won't hold it down.

    Styrene Background Heaters

Slowly pecking away when I'm not doing honey-dos. For a bit of reference, the drink in the foreground is a Route44. (44 oz). It is about 71" x 21" tall. There are a few more caves now than shown in this picture. I am about ready to Drylok / paint. I've ended up making several compromises...

    Iphone Login Problems

The latest patch 7.0.3, fixed my login problem. I assume it was the patch. I tried again yesterday to delete, reload... the app. Once again it was still jacked up. Downloaded the patch and it all works now.

    Buying Fish Online

I saw this mentioned on another thread, but I didn't want to hijack their thread. I have been targeting mid December to have my 120g up and cycled. I have been watching bids on Aquabid. But, like I said, I saw this on another thread. Do people ship during the winter months?
