Looking for stocking suggestions for a 9x2x2 ft tank

Yeah I'd love to go the dwarf cichlids but the problem I'm really having with this tank is it sits about 10 feet above the ground. Sorry should have mentioned that before. So I really need to keep it stocked with larger fish. I can't do anything about how high up the tanks sit. All 3 of these...

I resent that. I work at a Lfs and I always try to teach people how to do a fishless cycle. Not all of us are bad :)... Just the majority.

What Made You Want A Freshwater Aquarium?

Well i've been into fishing (angling) for aslong as i can remember i always loved watching fish swim through the water and one afternoon i decided to set up a tank. well that spiralled out of control to 7 tanks running at one point, varying from simple betta set ups to a coral probagation...

Monster Fish- think before you buy

I agree they shouldn't be sold to the general public. But I've seen them kept in absolutely huge tanks and indoor ponds happily. Although these tanks measured into the 800 gallon plus range. A license to keep these monsters should be implemented in my opinion.

More horror stories from a LFS

Well to start off I had been shopping at this store for roughly 3 years. Great relationship with the owner and employees they know I'm a bit obsessive and picky with my fish so they tell me to net and bag my own. Works great for me I get the exact one I want. Works for them they know I come back...

Need advice for 10 gallon nano reef..

Have you thought of lighting? And I agree small reefs are not the best for beginners but with dedication they are completely possible. Research every fish and invert you intend to put in the tank and do your best not to impulse buy. Keep the bio load as light as possible

    Nyghtfires 75 gallon reef.

Sadly with work and study in the new year 97 hours combined. I've taken down my reef and donated livestock to friends who have the resources to take it. I couldn't bare to watch the tank suffer as I doubt I would have had time to maintain it.

    Too small for seahorses?

If you are set on it though 7.8 gallons would be horrible for anything but dwarf seahorses Maybe look in your local area for a marine fish keepers club. Someone there would be able to assist you in your endeavor. Your on the right step though I'm sure everyone here has a mistake that could have...

    29 gallon nano reef build

To my knowledge copper will make your rock and sand dangerous to inverts and coral permanently. The rock absorbs the copper and slowly leaches out. One of the reasons I recommend avoiding secondhand live rock.

    Dirt substrate capped with sand?

If you have a Test kit and some patience go for it. My planted tank is dirt and is easily my most successful tank to date. No co2 just dirt and high light. Pretty easy to do. Put dirt in cover with substrate. I do suggest putting the pfs around the borders. And be very careful when adding...

    can mantis shrimp break glass?

Oh and to answer to the person above me. The temperature of the water around there punch is what gives them the ability you are right the punch alone cannot do it there's not alot of force. But there's other factors.

    can mantis shrimp break glass?

Yes they have the ability to break glass. And a full grown has the same power as a bullet. But there punches power isn't from the punch itself. There mandibles move so fast and create so much friction that it boils the water. The sound isn't the impact the frequency of impact noise is beyond...

Need help locating a glass top for 90 gallon bowfront

No an auto top off will keep your tank with a constant amount of water in it. So whenever water evaporates below a certain point it is topped back up again. Edit: commonly used In reefs.
