Dead cory, I don't recognize this (pics included)

I started the salts because my Betta was beginning to get some white spots, and continued with salts after doing more research, (in which I never came across anything that said cories and other catfish are sensitive to salts.. until today searching that specifically) most fish enthusiasts...

Dead cory, I don't recognize this (pics included)

Well I did a 60% today since I found the dead cory, and didn't add anymore of the salt today. I've only added half the salts that is directed, and for fear of over cleaning (which I've done) I'll just wait until I do my next tank change a week from now. When I've done PWC more than once a week...

Dead cory, I don't recognize this (pics included)

well I can certainly stop adding the salts, but those signs have never been shown in any of my cories, and I do spend a lot of time watching them.

Dead cory, I don't recognize this (pics included)

Yes, I tested my tap water before I re-set up my tank. It was suggested to me to do the salts to prevent diseases, over all health, ect. and to only replace the salt when doing a tank change. My other two cories have handled it (and until today) the third just fine. As stated above I've had all...

    Fungal infection treatmeant?

Aside from the lump on his pelvic fin, it was a single white dot on his head, which is now almost impossible to tell was even there. From everything I've read from infections to ich, it seems its all treated somewhat the same. Raised temp and salts. It isn't getting any bigger, it isn't...

    Fungal infection treatmeant?

Its only been a couple of days but the one white spot on his head is just about completely gone. Having the new heater I think has helped a lot. My old one was a 50 watt and I replaced it with a 100 watt with the temp on the dial which helps (me at least) quite a bit. With it just being warmer...

    Fungal infection treatmeant?

Alright well I've added the salt, and picked up a better heater for my tank. I'll be putting it in tonight.

    Fungal infection treatmeant?

Salts as well as PWC I've read helps fungal as well, so I think I'm just going to go with the salts and see if there's any improvement. I just got done with a 50% PWC. By any chance do you know if one should wait a little while before adding salt right after a change? or should I be alright to...

    Fungal infection treatmeant?

Now that I looked it up yes, it is the pelvic fin, right side, unfortunately it doesn't help that he's like a calico with all his colors, that particular fin happens to be white.. The mass is a little south of center on that fin.

    Fungal infection treatmeant?

This is the lump, its the best picture I could get, its the white mass on the long fin I don't know technical terms.. The white spot is above his gill I'm really sorry these turned out so poorly.. I'm no photographer.

Ok pictures soon hopfully. I have no idea how they turned out, my Betta isn't.. cooperative.

    Fungal infection treatmeant?

One looks like a grain of salt, the other is like a white lump. The small one does look fuzzy though.

    Fungal infection treatmeant?

Before I do anything I want to double check a few things I've read, and compare to my tank set up. I have a 10 gallon tank, temp 78 ammo/nitrites 0 nitrates 5.0 1 Double tail betta 2 juli cory cats 1 spotted cory cat I noticed a small white spot on one of my Betta's fins, and figured I'd...

Wondering if there's anything I can do.

Oh that's cool! My first Beta (god rest his fishy soul) had a little of the tattered fins as well, seems most of them do from the pet stores. It is nice to know there is such a simple solution =)

Wondering if there's anything I can do.

Alrighty, thank you so much, I'll start that probably tomorrow since I just did my PWC a couple of days ago. =D

Wondering if there's anything I can do.

No red on them at all, and if its just keeping the tank clean, I think I can do that. I'm doing a little under 50% water changes once a week right now, and constantly testing my levels and they don't change which is good. I've upped my heater just a little tomorrow I'll check the tank temp again...

New aquarium many fish died; too soon cycle didnt happen?

Understanding and Treating Ich or White Spot I just stole this from one of the other threads about ich. Though I think one of these more seasoned people would be better at saying what would be best to focus on first, treat the ich or cycling the tank first. At least with both cycling and ich...

Wondering if there's anything I can do.

One of the juli cory cats I had brought home from a pet store I had noticed before I even bought him, had a little fray in his fins. Otherwise he seems healthy and happy. There is no discoloration in his fins, it hasn't gotten better or worse since he's been home, and my other two cories are...

    Betta gender mix

From everything I've read up on, Oto cats would be best for algae, but from personal experience the cory cats are great. The pygmy cory cats would be best since you only have a ten gallon. Also since you only have a ten gallon take into consideration what overstocking might do and how many...

Wanting to double check a few things

Is there any way I can avoid having mini cycle before adding more fish? Or at least help it along so there isn't much discomfort? Root tab supplements I can find at the pet store right? And if it does start out growing, can I cut it back? And thank you for the info on vacuuming gravel. I'll...

Wanting to double check a few things

Also just retested my levels again. Last check was yesterday. Since you had mentioned any sign of orange at all, I was looking very closely. My ammonia level is a very light, light light light yellow, my nitrates are BRIGHT yellow and darker hue. Is that what you were talking about? It's still...
