    Taking the plunge

I have to agree with that...yellow polyps (colony) are really great for starters. My first two were yellow polyps and green star polyps. Watch our for the green star polyps though, they can grow fairly rapidly.

    Can anyone ID these?

Holy cow!!! Awesome. Thank you!!! This is totally it! I just googled that, and bam! Wikipedia did say that they can replicate both asexually (cloning) and sexually (polyp dispersion). They're also known as strawberry anemones. This is so cool!

    Can anyone ID these?

Hey all, have these two little guys in my tank for a while. Growing slowly. They look peaceful and super neat, but after exhausting google and the web, I still cannot figure out what these are...any help greatly appreciated!

    Nik's 45 Gallon Build

Super stoked! Past 4 water tests have revealed perfect readings across the board and my nitrates have lowered from an average of 5-10 to approximately 2.5 (0-5). Would this be due to adding the 40 lbs of base rock with the 50 lbs live rock I had in the tank already; hence creating an even...

I originally started my 45 gallon in Mid-June, with approximately 50 lbs. of live rock from the LFS I...

    Good News

Thanks red! We have a lid on ours Carey at the moment... In regards to Cardinal fishes, are they ok with being kept by themselves or do they need more than one? A couple of sites I've researched have stated Cardinals may prefer one or two more of their kind; is this an accurate fact?

    Good News

Hey all! I recently posted in "sick" sub-forum, regarding a recently purchased Coral Beauty that died a day after arrival in QT due to Fin Rot, and a Midas Blenny I had also received that had me concerned... The Midas is doing very well now after 1 week of QT action (2-3 weeks to go). He's...

    Coral Beauty - Fin Rot

Slither, thank you for your replies. I would agree with you. There are no lights on the qt except for minimal natural light. Carey, correct, the Midas is in Qt. He does have 3 nice size PVC pipes. Thank you for replying Carey. You guys are awesome as is this forum!

    Coral Beauty - Fin Rot

Carey/Slither, I have yet to come across any materials that state whether a younger or smaller specimen is hardier than an aged specimen. Naturally I would think this may be a fairly accurate thought but, you never know right? Have either you seen one on one time with a Midas Blenny? We are...

    Coral Beauty - Fin Rot

Well, my brand new Coral Beauty from Live Aquaria passed away today...one known factor (not known of this was the cause), is Fin Rot. After temp and drip acclimating yesterday afternoon, the CB seemed fine upon entering quarantine (20Gal Long). He was breathing fairly rapidly which left me...

    Is QTing neccesary?

I am QTing a Midas Blenny and a Coral Beauty! I am also hospitalizing in another QT two Oscellari clowns that may have broken out with ich. I am treating via hyposalinity. After reading everyone else's experiences and going thru QT process since day 1, I definitely agree that QTing is the way...
