OK..so I got a 20 gallon Qt tank 2 weeks ago.set it all up,seeded the new filter with old media frm my already established 125 g tank,added some gravel frm the old tank,decorations,etc...did the tests and its cycled.it is currently fishless.my question is..can I leave it fishless and maintain...

Quick question.how does one know if indeed the polyfil hasn't been treated with fire retardant chemicals?bcuz the bag doesn't state otherwise...

True.and its economical as well.I paid about 3 bucks for a 16 oz. Bag :) that'll last me a long time.which is more than I can say for the fluval water polishing one at my lfs..which runs about 8 bucks for about 6 pads that'll last me precisely one week..or one pwc ..lol

I purchased a bag of Fairfield polyfil for my canister Filters and I have a question.How do I know if it hasn't been treated with fire retardant chemicals?its doesn't say any where on the bag.however,it does say printed on the bag,"meets the flammability requirements of California home...

Change of plans.I kept the fluval 405,scrapped the u4,added an xp3 and also an AC 110.now hopefully I've achieved a more desirable tunover rate. Does anyone else have a similar setup that can offer any suggestions?how long till the new filtration is seeded?any input would be helpful. Thanks :)

Forgot to mention it Is a freshwater tank and the submersible filter is rated @35 to 65 mph...
