Aside from buying a chiller, what is a good way to keep my tank cool? I have a 130 gallon acrylic tank, and the temperature is nudging the 84 degree mark. Help please.
I havent used any chemicals yet. I won't be the one doing the cleaning on it. I'm hiring a guy that works at an auto shop to do this, and I'm sure he's going to be using chemicals. Not sure exactly what, but I need to know how to flush out these chemicals, know what I mean jelly bean?
My GF and I went to a little county fair back in 2010. We played a little game, and ended up winning a goldfish. We took it home, and our son named him (Can not remember the name for the life of me!), eventually that goldfish passed away. I got curious as to why, so I got onto the internet and...
So, regardless of the chemicals I use, I can just fill the tank of with vinegar or bleach, let it sit for a day I'm assuming(?), then empty it out and I'm good to go?
I snagged a 125 gallon acrylic tank, and cabinet for 100 bucks a few weeks ago. The acrylic is really scuffed up, inside and outside. I was wondering after I am done sanding and buffing it, what is a good way to flush out all the chemicals I used during the restoration period. Any advice is...
I just bought a 120 Gallon acrylic tank, cleaned it up and put my fish in it. The acrylic is really foggy and scuffed. Is there anyway to clear this up? Or make it less scuffed?
I'm fixing to upgrade my 55G tank to a 150G tank, I have 2 Balas, 1 Red Tail, 3 Clown Loaches, 5 Kuhli Loach, 1 Peacock Eel, and 1 Pleco. With all the space I'm fixing to have, what are some good companions for these fish?
I have 3 bala sharks, a red tail shark, 5 clown loach, 5 black kuhlii loach, a plecostomus and a peacock eel, would it be ok to feed them an earth worm?
How the heck can I boil drift wood that is faaaaar to big for your average pot. I have a piece that is roughly 1 foot tall and 3 feet wide, how can I boil it??
What is an overflow? And exactly its purpose. Fixin to buy a 90 gallon tank, and current owner says it has a nice overflow?? Someone explain please, thanks!
I dont have a test kit in hand, and I miss understood the cycling part. However, today I will take a sample of the water into the LFS, and take one of the Redtail back, as for the Bala, I'm keeping them. I plan on getting a rather big tank shortly after 2012 (tax return, booyah).
Ive only had her for 2 days, I had just cycled the tank the day before she got in there. My 2 balas are doing just fine. I have another redtail and he's doing fine. I already know you can't keep 2 redtails in the same tank, wish my LFS had told me that before selling them to me. The tank is a 55G.
I have a redtail shark that stays with his nose pointing down and his tail pointing upwards, and always stays next to the filter. Any idea why this is happening??
My yellow mollies whole right side of the body looks like it got chewed up, or bitten, but she's the biggest fish in the tank. So it leads me to think maybe its fin rot?? Any advice would be appreciated!
When I first got him (1 month ago) he was very dark, with darker spots. Now he is almost a brown with black spots, not sure what kind of pleco he is, but is this normal??
I am getting new carpet tomorrow, and new tile. I have a 55G tank with 2 mollies, 2 guppies, 3 tetra, and a baby pleco. I was wondering if putting them in a bucket for 2 days would be ok while I get new carpet. It sounds mean, but I'm open to ideas ASAP!
