the pleco is about 8" long so yes he is on the larger side. However, I was not aware that size had a direct relation to hardiness....does anyone else know if this is true? Also...is there any specific way i should pick him up so i don't hurt him?

My common pleco has finally gotten a little too big for my 55gal, and i'd like to put him in my 75. The 75 has a lot fewer plants, and it has only a midas-reddevil cichlid crossbreed in it. I know that you aren't supposed to net plecos....but what would be the best way to transfer him over...

i could be wrong, but i don't believe ro/di water is good for freshies????? My aunt who has been keeping saltwater for years told me not to use the ro/di unit on my freshwater fish. she might be mistaken.....BUT i would def. wait until someone else chimes in before you start using it in the FW...

when i clicked on the giant fish to enter the site it said i didn't have the right type of program to open the website?? any ideas what that is all about?

He is approx 6" long and looks like a baby great white shark. Really fun to watch him feed. He is a pretty rare find for a freshie, and we love him, but he just doesn't work well in our community tank since his hyperactivity makes our other smaller fish nervous and he likes to eat things...

when my oscar came down with HITH i dosed with salt as well as regular water changes, and he came through the ordeal ok despite the fact that he was looking pretty bad. I now use it in all my fresh tanks except for the one with my clown loaches. Our little darlings without scales don't take...

i just fed my oscar some large cichlid sticks and he pigged out as usual. what is odd is that he is not closing his mouth and i can see a "stick" wedged crosswise in his throat. he keeps swimming up to the glass and folllowing me around the tank like he is trying to show me.... It sort of...

i just finished 11 and absolutely have got to stop before i go crosseyed!!!!! i guarantee i'll be back at it in the morning though.....my fiancee is still going at level 12 as i am writing this lol.............we will never get any sleep this way :roll:

looking for a cheap 29 QT tank (with a filter preferably) my oscar's current QT is a little on the small side and i wanna make sure he is cool while we go on vacation and the in-laws are babysitting......

i live on the 2nd floor of my aparment building and I have....... 1 75 gal and 1 55 gal in one room about 5 feet apart 2) 75 gals and a 10 gal in the next room within 15 ft of each other and my 6ft long sleeper couch is right up against them Been living here a year and haven't shared...

that might be a bit steep $ for a 29gal....then again you are including equipment.... i just know that i have seen them go for alot less in some of the listings that i have checked out. You might want to consider lowering your min price on ebay and just reserve the right to refuse sale if they...
