Recently purchased some turbo snails for my first clean up crew...well I came home, drip acclimated them and put them in the tank. Thirty snails sat in the sand bed and didnt move! So I though maybe I got a bad batch...called the owner of the LFS explained the issue to him, and he happily...

Question...I have three 1050's in the tank. I noticed the two firefish seem to be fighting the current, and swimming against it non stop...is this ok? Sorry if this is a dumb question!

Just a quick update...had my perimeters checked at the LFS...gave me the all clear to add fish! Was pretty dang excited. Added a couple of fire fish and my cat loves them and won't stop watching them! Very cool!!

Any suggestions on how to quite down the sump return pump? Could I put a sponge under it to help with the vibrating against the sump wall?

Yeah I was worried about that too...but it's the only place the aquarium "fit" in the house. We don't get to much sunlight through there. Thanks for the heads up.

I recently bought a used Octopus Protein Skimmer from the owner of my LFS. With that said how do I get bubbles up to the point where they will start falling into the cup? I recently figured out if you adjust the water return tube, the bubble will rise and lower...but not to the point they fall...

Thanks SEA! The sump came with the package I bought. It is a prefabricated sump, that has a Octopus skinnier crammed in it...with a ref in the middle...working well so far.

I tried to replace the fan...plugged it it in and sparks!! It was pretty **** exciting in my house for a few seconds! Now both fans are broke...buy on the bright side...there is no noise!

Thanks guys...this is a really cheap way for an auto top of...it is gravity fed and will cost about $60.00 after its all said and done.

Well here is a homemade stand I build for the gravity fed top off system...five gallon jug will set on top over the sump. This has encompassed everything I do...my wife has given up on me :)!! And thanks for all the replies about the API test kit...it has been ordered!
