    Ellioti Cichlid aggression

Thanks for your replies. I think I will stay clear of the SA or African cichlids then. Ill do some research on smaller and more passive alternatives. I love the colour cichlids can bring to an aquarium. But wouldn't want to jeopardise a peaceful tank.

    Ellioti Cichlid aggression

So really then he had some bad information from the pet shop. Another question then are there any cichlids whether dwarf, SA or African thanks would be considered a good community tank choice?

    To snail or not to?

I have a 120l tank thats home to 6 black phantom tetras, 5 panda Cory's and a plec. I have some organic plants mixed with some plants with gravel and sand substrate. I'm in two minds whether or not to add snails to the community. What are others thoughts? What snails would be best?

Hi, This post is not intended for the benefit of my own aquarium, but a problem a friend had with his. I wouldn't normally be bothered enough to post about another persons issues, but as one day i myself want to keep cichlids, I wanted to bring this up. He has a fairly new tank which is 100...

So me saying my tank is cycled- the readings of the test kit all say 0. Which I was informed by the pet shop is cycled.. It has been cycling for two weeks with water changes. Basicly its still in cycle mode, and not to buy any animals yet? The green algea is hard to pull out, as it gets...

    Cycling- algea

Today my 70l salt water tank has finally cycled. That's good. But there is still some brown algea, not much as I clened as much as possible out. But also there green hair algea. My question is, will buying snails get rid of it? Sent from my Lenovo B6000-F using Aquarium Advice mobile app

    Fishless or fish in cycles?

So basically a fish in cycle most likely will kill the fish I put in there. So a more humane method would be fishless. I don't want to intentionally harm the animals I wish to keep. Sent from my Lenovo B6000-F using Aquarium Advice mobile app

    Fishless or fish in cycles?

So I'm on the road for buying a brand new tank. My last one I had to give up due to going travelling. Anyway I'm back now and going to start over... Anyway, now I feel the need to jog my memory on tank care mainly the cycling of a tank. I know this is an extremely important task, so my question...

    red eye tetras

I like in the UK. The particular place I live only has one fish shop in the area. With that it's not a particularly big one. I like the bronze and peppered variety of the corydoras. I have black gravel in my tank to. So they would be very visible.

    red eye tetras

I really like the look of them. Which led me here. It seems now I have them I'm going to have to build the community around them. I think the panda corydoras are a very good idea. They are another fish I really like the look of. Though I will have to wait. Because around here they don't seem to...

    red eye tetras

I believe my tank is about 40 gal (that's me roughly working it out). Really need to work it out properly. Do you think it would pay to get more red eyes before getting any more fish? So their school is bigger? Also I would like to get some corydoras. Since they Are ground dwellers?

    snails

Hi recently I have been pondering about buying some snails for my tank. Mainly to help keep it clean. But in the past I have found that with snails come with massive breeding problems. And they invest the tank. Is there any particular snail that maybe doesn't breed well in a domestic aquaria?

Would pit ball or bull dog plecs be advisable? I've heard that they are compatible with most fish, and also a good algae eaters.
