How many softies can you name?

Its just a red finger leather. My maroon loved my bubble tip anemone to death so I swapped in the leather in its place and the clown took to it right away. Treats it just like its old anemone, funny thing is watching the leather close down in low light and having the clown still snuggle itself...

My little corner of the ocean

Wow, you are spot on about it being a sea squirt. I did a little more homework and it looks and acts like one. Amazing how complex those things are, I was thinking barnacle at first but it was way to active to be that, learn something new everyday.

Mushrooms. Anyone know what that barnacle looking thing is? It grows and contracts, when moonlight is on the opening triples in size. It also closes when disturbed. Ive got a couple of them growing on my rock.

My little corner of the ocean

Good beginner soft corals are the leathers, mushrooms, and the kenya trees. My lighting is stock and everything has been healthy over a year now. The only casualties to date were a bubble tip anemone and a bubble coral. My anemone was actually pretty healthy, I just think my clown loved it...

My little corner of the ocean

Thanks! Thanks all for the kind replies! Its actually just a stock nano biocube. I've added an additional power head for circulation and have a garden of soft corals that have been growing and spreading from frags for about 1 year now. Its amazing what a healthy tank will grow in a short...

    Need expert eyes, corals.

The majanos were on a relatively flat edge of my live rock, I grabbed a pair of stainless steel tweezers and plucked them off. Its been about 1 week with no sign of any others - hopefully that did the trick. The feather duster was just too harrassed by my maroon clown. I watched it pull its...

Went as expected, the emeralds ripped it to shreds. Too bad, it was alive and looking to nest in a snug spot in my live rock. **** mother nature, u scary.

    Nano Reef 14g

I appreciate all of the advice. I'll move the tang and angel much sooner. All have been together for about a month, all seem happy, eat very well, and show no signs of stress. Very active swimmers. The maroon is protective of the anenome and stays with it most of the time. My blenny found a...

    Need expert eyes, corals.

OK, little anenomes are removed. Feather duster drama continues. He's alive and crawling out of the tube. Water parameters are great, so I'm assuming it was due to the harrassing from my maroon clown and hermits. Question now, where will the worm go? I have 2 emerald crabs and a handful of...

    Need expert eyes, corals.

Thanks! It does look like a majano anenome, now removed from the tank. The bubble anenome was just in the process of growing again, seems to contract and excrete waste about every 3 days. The tank is about 3 months old, its been doing that since I got it - I feed it krill about once a week...

    Need expert eyes, corals.

Thanks for the tips. After some research it doesn't appear to be the ones you mentioned. It actually appears to be developing bubble tips, is this an offspring of my larger one? Close-up attached. Another question, my emerald crab and maroon have been terrorizing my feather duster. This...

    Need expert eyes, corals.

I have a biocube 14 stocked with a variety of corals and nano fish. A questions related to critters popping up in my tank, please use attached photo for reference. 1.) Is my algae growth normal? It came in as a bright green, now turning reddish brown. Its all over my live rock. 2.) Next to...

    Corals under stock biocube lighting

Attached photo of a variety of corals in my stock biocube 14. No lighting upgrades, everything has been flourishing the past 2 months, including an anemone.

    Biocube 14, need fish suggestions.

Everything is stock in my tank, the standard biocube supports a variety of coral life but not all. Work with a knowledgable person at your aquarium store and they can guide you to coral that doesn't need special care or lighting.

    Biocube 14, need fish suggestions.

Thanks for the suggestiond, went with a multi-color blenny and a small coral beauty. All getting along fine. The coral beauty is hiding out behind my coral cluster most of the time - assuming she needs some time to get used to the new environment. Also added some new coral with a piece...

    Biocube 14 overheating

Anyone out there having issues with the biocube overheating? The tank is stock, and my digital temp reading moves upwards of about 81-82 degrees before I turn off the lights in the evening. I keep the lights on for about 8-10 hours a day for my corals. Fans seem to be working but not helping...

    Biocube 14, need fish suggestions.

Hello fellow nano cubers, I just started stocking my 14g Biocube with a number of different corals and they seem to be doing great. Recently added an anenome and maroon clown to the party joining a bunch of cleaners (halloween hermit, cleaner shrimp, snails, and a handful of small hermits) I'm...
