    Angelfish Hole In Head?

Thanks again Andy! The holes don't seem to have changed size at all. Will they heal over? Another article I was reading said the scarring would be permanent.

    Angelfish Hole In Head?

Ah I see! Thanks Andy!! Picked up some NLS pellets- but no luck finding plain metronidazole. Can General Cure be mixed in with their food? I'm not sure what a good ratio of GC to pellet would be- not terribly much info out there on the concept either.

    Angelfish Hole In Head?

Great! Thanks guys! I've ordered some NLS pellets, so they'll be getting the good stuff soon! I wish it was just a few too many cheese burgers! But these are definitely holes. I've upped my water changes- with a little help from the canister filter hose that slipped its bracket! Staying off...

    Angelfish Hole In Head?

I finished the directed treatment with general cure- but today I noticed that one has white and stringy poop.... So I suppose GC + Melafix did not do the trick. I can't find medicated food- does anyone have experience soaking flake/pellets in metronidazole?

    Angelfish Hole In Head?

I'm looking into getting some other flake foods or pellets. Do you guys know which size pellet angelfish usually take? I'm not sure if .5mm or 1mm would be best..

    Angelfish Hole In Head?

Thanks for your help!! I usually feed Omega Color Flakes, and introduced the frozen brine shrimp & carnivore food for some variety. The frozen foods seem to be a vastly less full of protein than the flake food- is there a reason many things I've read boast about frozen foods? I'll...

    Angelfish Hole In Head?

These two are about half a year old now I believe? Maybe a month or two older. I only started feeding them frozen foods a month ago however. Tank is 40g (taller rather than longer). Tank-mates are: x3 Congo Tetra X2 Diamond Tetra X4 Glowlight Tetras I haven't seen any aggression...

    Angelfish Hole In Head?

Hey all! Recently noticed some strange marks in the backs of my two Philippine Blue Angels. Thinking it's hole in the head disease and was wondering if anyone here could confirm my suspicions? Water quality in my tank is as good as ever- no new fish- thinking the only thing that's different...

    Angelfish Help

Lost the other baby angelfish today, so I guess that rules out anything General Cure would have gotten. I ordered them from a very reliable breeder who I've had success with in the past, I fully believe the fish were at peak health when shipped- shipping must have been rougher this time...

    Angelfish Help

Hi all! I recently got a 6 dime-sized angelfish and had them in a 10 gal quarantine tank. When I opened their box, they did not look great and I think they might have been tossed about alot in shipping but I figured a little time would fix them up. Drip acclimated them, did not feed. All...

    Quality goldfish /suppliers/breeders suggestions?

Yea these'll be pond fish. We wouldn't be looking to buy them until spring/summer, just curious if there are any places/sites to keep our eyes on! And we're something like the Greater- greater Philadelphia area, if that helps.

    Quality goldfish /suppliers/breeders suggestions?

Not sure where this thread belongs, my apologies if this is incorrect. I've been hunting around the local chain petstores trying to find some nice metallic scaled calico/shubunkin goldfish, but to no avail! Was wondering if any of you sharp eyed fellows had any suggestions for online vendors...

    Speculating a Biocube 29

I'm fine with the rocks and sand taking up volume! I'm still wondering how I'm going to lug ~20 jugs of distilled water in from the grocery store... I've heard some wonderful things about clowns, but also some problems. They aren't a nessessity to me, so I think I'll leave them out for now...

    Speculating a Biocube 29

Ah, silly advertisers. I guss that takes angels and other 30 gallon fish off list! May I ask if the display area only allows 20 gallons, or does the entire tank only take 20 gallons to fill? Clowns seem to be a bit more aggressive than I origionally thought (and alot of them get big at that)...

    Speculating a Biocube 29

Oh man, thank you! That clears up alot, alot! Do you think that a Pink Skunk Clown fish at 4" would be suited for the tank, or the even smaller 3" breeds? Shame the Tomatoes get too big, they are beautiful. Do you think a dwarf angel would be comfortable in a 29 Gal tank? Again thank you!

    Speculating a Biocube 29

Well all you lovely saltwater keepers have convinced me to look further into a 29 gallon Biocube, and now it's top priority on my little wish-list for the holiday! C: I am amazed at how much information there is to learn on this stuff, (and I'm guilty of spending more time studing saltwater...

    Do You Eat Fish?

I'm a vegetarian now, but even back in the day I never ate much fish (parents didn't like the taste). Of course they also don't much like the taste of my 'rabbit-food' (salads, vegatables, fruits). They're meat and potato people-- or as my dad says, "Get everything green off my plate!"

How emotionaly attatched are you to your fish?

Some fish just pass without much more than a sigh and goodbye, but when I came home from school and my mom told me that our gold koi had been killed (not even eaten) by a heron I was choking on the tears. That fish would come up to greet me every time I passed the pond, bump my hand when I...

    Torn fins or fin rot?

Earlier this month I noticed that the edges of my male double-tail betta's tail fins had begun to fade. He ate well, was swimming fine and active as usual. About a week and a half ago I noticed a tear in his bottom fin, but figured he had just cut it on the bushy plastic plant in the tank...

    t5 Ho with reflector ?

Well I don't know if there are multiple charts or not but this is the one I referr to when researching lighting: PAR vs Distance, T5, T12, PC - New Chart With t5ho/t5 lights it seems that the strength of the light also relies heavily on the distance from the tank, so you can adjust to suit...

    Filtration for a nano?

I'd love a large tank but there is a bit of an issue with space.. so a nano reef is more attractive at this moment C: I've been scouting out Biocubes for like the past 1/2 hour and I am starting think they are more cost effective than piecing to together a regular tank! I've had fresh water...

    Filtration for a nano?

I have no experience in salt water at all, but I've been researching nano reefs since I stumbled upon a a picture this morning. I think they're fascinating, and I love the look of the bright corals! My lfs recently opened up a saltwater section with all the essentials C: So I think the best...

    LED Lighting?

So I've still been hunting around for a decent lighting fixture for my 40 gallon breeder. So far I my options are 78 watt t5ho (dimmed with window screens) and 21(x2?) watt aqueon dual light thing. But I've come across the Marineland double bright LEDs, probably better suited to salt water, but...

How get I reach 'Medium Light'

Oh sweet, mesh would work out swell! Has there ever been any trouble with with melting or anything? I'll take a swing by the local hardware store to scope out the selection C: The tank will have a glass top, so I think it will be easy to lay some mesh over it! I've come across some florescent...

How get I reach 'Medium Light'

So I'll need to reduce intensity and increase the light's range, if I go with a t5ho. Hum... I can't really hang the lights with where the tank will be located, and I haven't seen a switch advertised on any of the fixtures... A custom hood would probably be out of my price range unfortunately...
