can you post a pick, the way you described it is confusing....

Can you take a pic? Your not sure its Ich? Ich looks like salt stuck on the fish, and it usually will show up in more then one spot. What do you have in the main tank? Inverts, corals..

need more info... other fish/inverts/anemone? how long have they been missing after you added them? how big is the eel compaired to the fish? SFE are not known fish eaters... But if hungry you never know.

I just took 2 of these little SOB out of my frag tank.. I did a FW exit dip and Lugols dip on all zoos and shroon rocks in the tank. Good luck... I am not putting any of those coral in a tank for 3-4 months now..

aptasia and there a pest in a tank, great at cleaning water but in a tank they are no good. Your gonna have to nuke them. I have read that if you tray and manually remove them they release spores, spreading them more.. ??? Good luck with the fight..

After years in the hobby I just got a 6 line wrasse and it is becoming my fav fish.. Grammas have great color..

If the fish are healthy they should be able to fight off the ich. You can feed food soaked in garlic guard and I have also mixed into the food Metronidazole made by seachem. I am no expert on this having only had it in my tank once and I lost the host fish but my other tang got it and is now...

Some LFS will only pay you what they can buy them for from their dealer. Why pay you $6 when he can get it for $3 at the dealer. Most LFS are all about $$$ and if there the only SW LFS in the area they know you don't have a choice.

top off is a big concern!!! Unless you have a auto top off that can hold alot of water you need someone to top off.

Tanks don't cost that much, I would just buy one..

Ziggy those are ok to have... The red/rust ones can take over a tank. My 55 was taken over with the red ones and I now have a mandarine and 6 line working on them. I have not seen the fish eat any yet, but I have not had any on the glass sense adding the fish. I used to have them on the glass...

I had some when I first got into the hobby and IMO not worth the time or money. Like mentioned already they require special food and when that gone there dead.. IMO another critter that should be left in the ocean.

why are you going daily water changes? Did you test for ammonia? Diatom filters work great for cleaning water.

Suggestion... Put it back in the ocean... Why would you put something that you have no clue what it is into a small tank? When it kills your corals maybe then you'll take it back?

IMO anything sold in a Plastic Bag should not be considered live. Seal yourself in a plastic bag and see what happens. ezy33 How can anything sealed in a bag and put on a shelf for months be considered "live"? Hockey I would not consider it "junk" I just would not expect much out of it...

If you want to try corals then keeping nitrates as low as possible is a must..

Calcium, alkalinity? Whats ORP? pH 12.01?? Ph should be around 8.0-8.2

If there is bacteria on the sand it will die over time if not in water with food for the bacteria. And don't expect a quart of sand to be a big help with the cycle.. you also want the LS to be on top of and dead/play sand you get.

If it is high then lower it slowly, if all the critters are fine then rushing to lower it could do more harm then good. Take is slow... Over time take out SW and add fresh, do it over several days to lower it.. Post your numbers.. and like MHat says it could be your tool that you use to check...

post your numbers... your good may be different then ours.. Its either lighting or water conditions..

On my tanks the LR is on the bottom glass and against the back for support. IMO no need for glues, supports ect.. I do the wiggle test when stacking the rock.. IMO the bigger issue is putting the LR in before the sand, this gives the LR a solid foundation. I added the LR the sand then water...
