I used Krylon Fusion. Its the only paint I found that does actually bond to glass. Its technically made for plastic, but it works well with glass as well. I used a blue, but it came out incredible. Way better then I even expected.

Although I don't see all of my brittles very often (usually just a leg or two sticking out from under a rock!), they are growing rapidly and seem to be quite healthy. I've had no problems with other inverts with them - and I've got quite a few crabs, snails and shrimp.

Might it be possible to put a small hole in the crossbar to let the moonlight through? Anyone have thoughts on what that would do to the structure?
