Starting to think about restarting the hobby ... SOAP

Oke thank you, i get it now, but i rather work with vinegar, because most of the bleach here is scented. Wash wih vinegar a couple of times and then rinse it in water with 5x the dechlorinator, right? :)

    Air Stones

It depends on the size of the tank and the fish that are in the tank. If you have a betta fish and a small tank i wouldn't advise it. But if you want it for the look then i would do it. Although i think more is less. And i like to make it as natural as possible :) Ian

Oh where oh where can my guppy be?

Strange ! I have read online and it appears that swordtails and platties can breed. So welcome Jesus ! :D cool name :D About the lost one, could it be that he got eaten? Because that would explain alot? Ian

Oh where oh where can my guppy be?

I don't know that but i owned some guppy's and they are top dwellers, so if one vanished it's probably not be a good sign. If your aquarium has a lid, i won't bother with checking on the floor, if you don't i would check. Maybe behind the filter or behind any other equipment? Sorry for your...

Starting to think about restarting the hobby ... SOAP

So i wash it with a 1:10 bleach solution. Afterwords i soak it in a bleach/water mix with 5 x the amount of bleach that is advised. What should i look for when buying bleach? And why is it so much better then vinegar? Isn't vinegar safer? Thank you !!!

Oke, the vinegar will also clean the filter media? No need to buy new media? Ian
  17. S

    Upgrading tank!

You can always get some other filter media and put in the filter of your "old" tank, after a few weeks the filter media will have the right bacteria and then you can transfer it to the new tank. That is what i should do.(i'm not sure about the duration that i said) Ian

Would it be good that after all the cleaning that i fill the aquarium again with water and vinegar and let it run for a couple of days. To really get everything out? Thank you so much :) Also i'm looking at only 1 type of fish in the tank , maybe only a single fish in it :) Ian Edit: The...

Oh, its 110 l or 29 gallon, yea you can choose :) I'm more concerned about the soap in all my equipment you tell me to use vinegar. But i don't know how that would work. Are there some other people who have other ways of dealing with this? Ian
