My paired blood parrot cichlids have only laid eggs once and this is my first time watching them do their mating dance. How soon until they'll lay eggs?

My M. Estherae's (a type of african cichlid i think) jaw looks funny.. More squarish than usual. Is this normal? Sorry if the photos are bad..she wouldn't stay very still. So i only got a few good ones.

So I made this specifically for my fish and made sure it was glazed enough so none of it is left unglazed accept the bottom. Even the inside is glazed. And my question is..is this safe to put in my tank? It was dishwasher safe, food and drink safe, non-toxic glaze. I did a tiny bit of research...

While i was cleaning my tank my blood parrots started nipping at me. Is there anyway to stop them from nipping? They haven't nipped at all accept for a once and a while nip here and there, but this time they nipped at me alot.

I know this'll be good for plants..but i already have fish. So would it sink already to the bottom? How would i put it in without bothering them? And it says it won't increase the ph, but will it decrease it?

I'm thinking of saving up to get aquarium dirt that's good for plants..then add a few small grass plants and taller plants, but I don't know where to start. My temp ranges from 78 to 82 throughout the day because of the heat. And my ph is at 7.6. My lighting is attached in a photo.

Finally!!!! I convinced my science teacher to give me his M Estherae! He has been keeping it in a Shrubunkin goldfish tank. I don't know how it has managed to stay alive! They're supposed to be in 78 to 83 degree water so i've read.. And It was in 64 degree water. And mine ranges from 78 to 82.

Are there any driftwood that barely lower the ph? And how much will it lower the ph? My ph is finally stable at 7.4 to 7.6 and i would like to keep it there..but i want a pleco and i haven't decided which yet, but i heard some need driftwood. My temp is at 80.

So if I were to switch to sand..what're the benifits opposed to gravel and how would i clean that? I have a siphon.

My upside down catfish's whisker appears to be bent.. Will it fix itself or will he be ok? Any ideas on how i can make him happier if it's bothering him? I'm not completely sure what to do..if i can do anything to help him.
