I have Eco-complete in my 55. All the plants seem to love it. Just make sure you dose ferts or root tabs as appropriate. More a factor than the substrate in most cases
Plants have been doing great till the last few weeks. No major tank changes though.
Seeing dark spots on the sword leaves, dark and curling leaves on some crypts.
Pics attached. First planted tank so not a lot of experience to draw on
same guess as to the eggs but not sure if they will hatch or not ?
I spent a good part of my last water change scraping the walls of eggs.
Next weekend is how to get them off the driftwood
Yeah can't say I have and any plant issues due to the lighting. Some random brown spots and a couple of thin leaves on one of the swords. Picked up a bottle of Seachem Trace and started that. Along with Excel when I remember it
It is narrow leaf micro sword if I remember correctly. Not getting a lot of runners or growth yet but not dying either lol

lax- thx love them. I already had a few bronze so I am glad they are as active as them. Makes a really active bottom of the tank

so got a couple of zebras for the tank and now I have the eggs. I know they won't survive in fresh water. The question I wasn't sure about is will they hatch and go away ? Or do I need to scrape them off ?

Slate from a garden store is always a good bet. Buy broken pieces or make some. Maybe file the edge if too sharp. Use some aquarium safe 100% silicon and you can make a wall/cave as needed.
Have had two Decker (alexrod?) Corys turn almost completely pale white in the last week. Lost one this morning and expect the other to pass soon.
I did a water change on Monday and here are my current water test as of tonight. Wondering if the slight ammonia is from the dead fish in the tank...
