Is the two-bulb enough for high light plants? If not, would this one be better?: Odyssea T5 Aquarium Lighting

Do you have a link for the four bulb T5 fixture? The link you posted first is a two-bulb fixture

Would flood lights be sufficient for a 20 gal planted?

Would two-90 watt halogen flood lights be sufficient for a 20 gallon (tall) planted tank? The lights seem to be very bright. If not, any cost effective suggestions? In the range of $80ish or less, thanks.

    Id please

Maybe for the gene pool, but there are so many hybrids already out there it's hard to say that it will affect anything anymore...If you hybridize just keep the ones you want and cull the ones you don't

    Id please

Yes, I've bred multiple species of mouth brooders. Most mouth brooders will breed with each other so I would be careful of the stock you choose. You can breed dragonblood's fairly easy just get 2-3 female dragonbloods for your male (I'm guessing it's a male), keep up with your tank maintenance...

    Id please

I'm not too familiar with dragonbloods, but if they're anything like most peacocks, the males usually have significantly more color.

    African Cichlid tank LIGHTING question

Definitely! Except I have many more plans for the tank before it's actually done. African Cichlid tank LIGHTING question

Awesome ideas! Gonna try the double bright LEDs with the tops first because I have a peacock eel that might jump. And if the tops get too dirty I'll just toss em. Thanks guys!

    African Cichlid tank LIGHTING question

Looks great! I guess I'm going to have to make a canopy or something then because my lids won't do me any good with a light like that :(

    African Cichlid tank LIGHTING question

They look great, but how does the top of your tank look? How are the lights sitting on your tank? Does it go with your stand?

    African Cichlid tank LIGHTING question

I have a 55 gal (4 ft) that I plan on completely restocking. Before I do that, I want some nice LEDs but I don't want the top of my tank exposed (hanging lights etc.). Right now I have standard black lids that fit perfectly on them with two 20 inch fluorescent light housings. Obviously my...

    female convict getting her colors

You had that negative experience with your Convicts because you did not clearly understand the nature of the fish before getting it. If you had enough tank space and hiding spots or separate tanks to raise the offspring, then you wouldn't have had that problem. Most fish will inbreed (fish don't...
