My Remora took about a week to really get going. That maybe the same case in your skimmer as well. The collection cup area is pretty noisy but very efficent. I only had raise my cup up once and after that , voila! I am very satisfied with it so far! Thanks Captive Reefs!

Sparky, Thanks for the heads up, I am sure that's what I was doing. I am going to lower it some this week by doing a partial water change with only RO/DI water to slowly lower it.

Sparky, that is probably what happened. I recently read up on some reef sites, garf.org and turned off most of the white light during the cycle of the day. I set it to mainly be blue light and the reaminder be white light. Just installed teh lights about 1.5 weeks ago so that is most likely...

I was told they will eventually need new shells once they outgrow theirs, or just attck other stuff for it, snails etc.. A couple of hermits I have are running around in cerith shells when I got them from LFS.

Mine did that when I first introduced him into the tank. I would assume in my case it was just getting acclimated though. *shrug*

Happy to know my SS Starfish is doing good, it almost always stays down in the bed, however I frequently don't see it bury itself. However there is LOADS of stuff for him to eat on the surface, I am sure that's why it stays near the top.

All, I recently have been noticing a big growth of white spots on my rock. They did not seem,(at least to me) to be in places where I had purple coralline growth. Is my coralline dieing? I am supplementing Ca into my water on weekly water changes. Here are some pics.

Well I bought a SS seastar about 1.5 weeks ago. I originally had some issues with him only staying on the glass. Just recently he has been going in the sand though. Hopefully all will stay well with him.
