    Well the powerheads in a SW are to move the water around the live rock mainly. Live rock is the natural filter in a SW tank. Plus my percula's loved a strong current! :D

    I have no clue when it comes to planted tanks. And when I looked at the sticky here I got even more confused. Whats with this CO2 injection? dont the fish naturally make CO2? Id like to get some dwarf gauramis, but I read that they like to have plants in their tank.

    Ive never put a powerhead in a FW tank, heck, I didnt even know of them really before I got into saltwater. But Ive got all my equip from my 10 gal SW and I have 2 mini jets (606 and a 404), would it be a bad idea to use these in a FW?

    I wouldnt worry about snails, they are a good clean up crew. But Im used to buying snails for my old SWT....

    I personally wouldnt worry about it, they ARE used to it cause its in their genes per say. its just like how they can go for 2 weeks+ without food. Just nautural characteristics(sp)

    Contaminated water?

    Everyone on base got a notice that our water is contaminated with E. coli. Well, my friend is buying my 20 gal tank with the fish in it and I Was wondering if the stuff that you put in the water to remove chlorine and such will get rid of the E coli? Or will it afect the fish at all?

    my "alpha" barb

    I have 6 tiger barbs, an 3 green barbs and they all cooporate with each other. They like to play around alot, chasing each other. But no nipping. But if there was another species in the tank..watch out...theyd kill it asap, I found that out the hard way :(
