    55 Gallon African Cichlid Tank

If I knew I was going to be moving, I would wait myself. Moving tanks is definitely not on my fun list. Once you get settled in I think you would really enjoy the Africans. You never have a dull moment in the tank, always something going on. Good luck with the move.

Not sure why? I would recommend you Google it. You can type in the question and get thousands of hits on it. You could also see a lot on YouTube. I do not doubt that you may have had a bad experience with the two; I know what works for some will not always work for someone else. I just disagree...

    55 Gallon African Cichlid Tank

My Rainbow does well with my Africans. I would suggest you get a lot more rock and build it up in the back of the tank. They will need a lot more hiding spots.

    Yellow Labs

It depends on the rock they have. The rock and garden shop I went to had a ton of different rock. Some rock could raise the PH level in your tank, but if you are keeping Mbuna they like a high PH anyway. One way you could tell is put a few drops of vinegar on the rock and if it starts to fizzle...

I would use sand. You can get black blasting sand at tractor supply for pretty cheap, and you could also use play sand at $7.00 for a 50 pound bag. Just make sure you rinse it really well. For the rock I went to a rock and garden shop and got 90 pounds of rock for 9 dollars. If you have any...

    As of now...

Tank looks fantastic. How long is it taking for the ammonia to zero out? You want to bring it up to 4ppm then ideally you want it to zero out in 24 hours.
