Hi I am looking at getting a protein skimmer and right now I can't afford a good one. I keep seeing one on ebay for $39 its called a best choice skimmer. Has anyone used one I can't seem to find any kind of reviews on them.

Ok hear is the update I have the qt tank ready. The fish that had the spots has died. All the other fish look good they are eating and have no spots on them. Should I still move them to the qt tank?

Also when transferring should I just fill the tank with the water from my main tank then lower the salinity or put all new water in and do the drip method?

Do I put sand in the ten gal. Is my blenny going to live I have a bag of sand unopen from when I set my tank up I could put in.

Do I drop the salinity in the 10 gal with the fish right? I just leave the dt alone do I act like nothing is wrong and do parcel water changes like normal?

I just got a new light that has 4 led light for night time viewing. I don't think my clown fish like them. When they are on, and just them he just swims up and down about two inches like crazy. If I turn on a set of the other bulbs he calms down is this normal? My damsel seems to be just fine...

Yes I did cycle the tank its been up for a month now. It looks like the damsel and clown like each other. They are hanging out together.

I just got my first fish today, i'm so excited I got 1 clown, 1 yellow tailed Damsel, and 1 Royal Gramma, any suggestions? Also how long should I wait to get more? The lady at the lfs. also suggested feeding them pellets is that what you recommend? I have 60 lbs of live rock also.

Yes I have 60lb of live rock right now. I have the a TOM Aquarium Surface Skimmer attached to my canister filter. When you say chemical filtration what do you recommend and how should I set it up? I also have the intake strainer hooked up should I remove that? Thanks for all the advice.

lol. I have an Aqua Top CF-300. I have ceramic rings and the filter pads on each level with the activated carbon already in it should I take it out?

I have 56G WLR and a canister filter do I need both or should a shut off my filter? The filter has a skimmer that I attached to it also. My tank is still in the setup stage no fish yet.

Thanks for the advice I will most likely get one but now I am having problems with my alkalinity. I read that I could use baking soda to raise my ph. All it did was raise my alkalinity. It is now threw the roof any advice.

I'm new to salt water tanks I keep reading I should use reverse osmosis water. Will I hurt the tank and future fish by using tap water? The tank is in setup mode now.
