Anemoneman... you are correct use the sand to hide the pipe work, So are we saying that closed loops are a good idea.

reefrunner... I want to set on 2 closed loops one that runs down the inside of the tank with 3 water outlets and one that runs under the sand with elbow outlets the pumps are ocean runners 3000's.

Can any one give me some pointers is doing a closed loop.

Can some one tell me what constitutes a reef tank. I do not want to put corals in my tank but like the strange crabs and shrips, can i have them with out corals, does having inverts mean it is reef tank, I will also have fish. Can some one explain.

I have just purchased Coral Sand(not live) for my new 62gal setup, what is the best way to prepare it before adding it to my tank, If possible can some one explain DSB to me.
