Perfect that gives me a place to start. The biggest concern was that it was only happening to the one tank. But now I know where to go. Thanks for the help Andy :D

    The tank is going green

The UV lights would kill off the algae, correct? What would the carbon do? (I am running carbon right now anyway)

    The tank is going green

The tank doesn't get sunlight, as for the bulbs they are only 2 or 3 months old. What would be the best way to fix it, assuming it is algae?

    The tank is going green

First off I have two tanks a 64g and a 77g and they both get the same treatment, (ie same water for water changes, same conditions). A friend sprung a leak in her tank (about 2 weeks ago) so I rescued 2 snails, a hand full of mollies, and a pleco, one snail went into the 77 and the rest into...

    Aggressive Top Feeders?

I was trying to think of something that would be able to hold its own for the most part.... ideally they would breed and grow fast enough that they could be a steady food source. but my dream is to one day have a complete ecosystem going in a tank, I think that would be awesome.

    Blood Parrot Cichlid Care

He doesn't quite come into contact with the heater he seems to be keeping about 1/8-1/4 of an inch clearance. I first noticed it a couple days ago but he only did it for a few minutes. Yesterday and today he's spent most of his time right there by the heater. It is a highly reflective heater...

    Blood Parrot Cichlid Care

New question for anyone who comes across this... My BP (Brutus) has been spending a lot of time "kissing" the heater in his tank... is that normal for them or is he cold. the water temp is at 80 degrees.

    Hybridizing thoughts and should i?

I would have to agree with Hukit. What you do at home is your choice, but with that choice comes responsability of dealing with the out come. I would say good luck with your breeding but please only share the photos with the rest of the world.
