Blue Rilis ( blue velvet, blue jelly) shrimps were derived as a morph out of Red Rilis. Red Rilis was a genetic morph from the high grade Sakura-Fire Red shrimps...which came from selective breeding of your regular Cherry Red Shrimps. :D

Malaysian Trumpet Snails. Fish will usually eat shrimp food...if they can get to it, lol. Though with a Pleco, I am sure he is eating any baby shrimps you may have any ways. :D

Yeah, just regular Kribensis (Pelvicachromis pulcher). I personally like the Brichardis, but wifey is leaning toward the Kribs for their coloration...lol.

Yup. Same here. I put that on the intake tubes of my HOBs. I tried pantyhose once..but it got 'full' real quick and hindered the HOBs performance. I recommend squeezing the fluval sponge once or twice every month though.

I did 10g for awhile...but I believe 20g Long is one of the best size for shrimps. Same height as 10g but with a larger footprint for more shrimps! More water is always useful as a buffer in terms of water params. Look at some Chocolate Shrimps or Blue Rili/Blue Velvet...different look than...
