I've got a 16 gallon bowfront and put some red ramshorn snails in and now i'm infested in them. Is there a way to get rid of these with out hurting my fish or breaking down the tank ?

i think they are ok. petsmart told me they require they're own type of food.

i bought a 16 gallon bow front a few monthe ago for 125.00. it came from petsmart and included everything except gravel and decorations.

i have the same problem with my 55 and just wash it off every couple weeks

my hood says 19 watts. will a led rated at 19 watts be brighter ?

i don't have live planys. i'm just wanting the tank to be a little brighter. the tank is built into the wall so you can only see it from the front, i don't know if that matters but the tank just seems a little dark.

hi everyone, i have a 55 gallon tank with standard hoods and lights. the bulbs are 19 watt and i want something brighter. can i put a higher wattage bulb in the standard hood without causing an electrical problem ? if so, how much do you think i can up the wattage of the bulbs.

i thought cichlids and community fish like swordtails was a no no ???

thanks, my water is in good shape and the babies seem to be doing great. it's funny, when you first turn the light on in the morning you don't see a one, then they start coming out of the woodwork. how long should i wait to re-home and transfer into different tanks ?

just decide which fish group you want. community, semi aggressive , chiclid, goldfish etc. just stock from the same group and you should be fine. your petshop can help you with this.

I have a new 16 g tank and the first fish i bought for it were 3 orange lyretail mollies. now i've got a dozen or so babies. will it hurt to add a few corys ?? i can keep a few of the babies but really can't handle all 12. what do you usually do with extra fish ? how long does it take for them...

I expected the active sponge filter to cycle the tank. the nitrites are 5.0. library girl, if my regular ph test is 6.0 then why does the high ph show 7.4 ? which test should i believe

HI, i just tested the new tank and have. ph 7.6 ammonia 0 nitrate 160 nitrite 1.0 do i need to bring the ammonia back up or am i on the right track ?

i've got a 16 gallon tank i'm trying to fishless cycle. the ammonia is still at 4.0m and the nitrate level is 160. i thought the ammonia went down when the nitrates went up. why are the nitrates so high ?
