Well 80-84 isn't bad, bc that's how a lot of things, like ICH are treated are with heat. With 6 platy's in a 5 gallon QT your parameters could have been the issue. ( platy's have very big bio loads ) I'm sorry for your loss, tho. It's never fun to lose a fish.

How high was the temp of the water when they were all huddled at the bottom? Had you checked your parameters?

... You should really try to get those trates under 20. I'm not saying that could be the cause of this mysterious spot, but 40ish is kind of high. As long as he's eating and acting ok, and your parameters are under control, I think he'll be ok. If it is something, clean water will help :-)

Is it on his fin closest to me on the picture? A spot or a growth? Can you tell when looking at him?

Omg I know! I split the fry up into both of my tanks and it seems they're growing even faster now. A lot of them in my 37g tank look like minnie platy's, color and all :-) Ok, I look forward to seeing yours. I'll try taking some more pictures tomorrow also. They move waaaay too fast for me lol

I have 18 platy fry ( almost 3 months old) and there is a huge difference in their sizes. Also, some appear to have bigger, darker belly's... I never was concerned, I just thought they ate a ton.
