    Wanted: Breeding boxes/fry nets

Oh, and for the bettas, you may want to consider some kind of DIY divider. I've seen people pick up some plastic mesh type things from the hardware store and cut them to size. Not sure exactly what it is, but some have used those covers for lights in drop ceilings. Just make sure that whatever...

    Wanted: Breeding boxes/fry nets

That's the one. You can choose your shipping method and see the price before checking out. To make the shipping worthwhile, you should check out his foods. It comes in 1/2 pound bulk and is anywhere between 4 and 5 usd. I highly recommend his foods. I've been using them for over a year with zero...

Check kensfish.com. His prices are great and shipping is usually reasonable.

For Sale: Lights for 30inch Tanks

How much do you want for the T5HO? I'm in NJ near the Lincoln Tunnel. I don't want to lowball you, but I'm looking for something on the cheap because I have too many tanks as it is and my wife gets mad when I start spending. I do need to upgrade this light though. I would take the sand also, if...

    Wanted: cholla cactus logs

Again? You never said your parents wouldn't let you open an account on aquabid! Unless you live somewhere where they sell them in a store, you're going to have to order them online.

    Wanted: cholla cactus logs

Again.....aquabid. I've purchased 5 6" branches for like $10 shipped. They are perfect for shrimp....at about an inch to inch and a half in diameter.

    Wanted: cholla cactus logs

Thank you for the confirmation. I tried to help save headaches, but oh well. You can find cholla wood on aquabid for pretty cheap as well.

    Wanted: cholla cactus logs

Alright there chief. Was just trying to help you out. Good luck with your adventure.

    Wanted: cholla cactus logs

Just a heads up.....the cholla will not help. Ghost shrimp are hard to breed. They need brackish water to survive.

My bad.....was just in the current threads and wasn't paying attention. Whoops! hehe

    Ghost shrimp

No offense, but that stocking is not good for that tank. Unless you have a sparkling gourami, that tank would be too small for a gourami. Also, tetras and white clouds are schooling fish, so you should have at least 6 of one OR the other. And both are pretty active fish, so some will say you...

    Cycling process!

If you don't have live plants, it doesn't really matter much. If you do, run them around 8 hours per day.

    Keeping platy population down.

    Keep all females. hahaha

    Ammonia level

Have you ever noticed damaged tails/fins? How much prime do you use in your water changes? Are you matching water temp when changing the water? Do you disturb the substrate a lot when cleaning? And do you change the filter media at all? Sorry for all the questions, they just all came to mind at...

    Crisis 101

Sorry to hear about the molly. Definitely check those water parameters.....sounds like you may have ammonia or nitrites. When you do the nitrate test, make sure you shake the heck out of bottle #2. Bang it on the counter and shake for 2 minutes.

    Need words of comfort

Not sure if the adult danios eat their young, so that's up to you if you want to take that chance.....unless someone else can advise on that. The 40ppm nitrate is right on the border of being too high. Some will tell you it is too high. I'd change around 25% of that water to knock that down...

    Crisis 101

Seen it too many times.....it's really a shame. Definitely go with Prime. It should be the only "chemical" you ever use in your tank, barring illness. And a full testing should definitely be done. Stay away from the test strips as they are very inaccurate.

    Cloudy water

Nice! I've never seen anything like that before (the setup). It's so cool to see the different ideas people have. This is why I'm a member of 3 different forums and have all the apps on my phone!

    Crisis 101

I hear you on this. And I agree! My tactic is to try to head some problems off at the pass. Sometimes folks ask the questions, but still go buy more fish while they are getting their answers. Just recently some guy was replacing discuss without getting to the root of the problem first. This was...

    Cloudy water

You should be good. I just looked at the pic again, and it's really not that cloudy at all. That's a funky setup, by the way. What kind of wood is that?

It's all good. My problem is my fat fingers......not compatible with the iPhone keypad sometimes. hahaha

    Need words of comfort

You'll be fine. Just get those little buggers in the breeder today. I'm sure they're still full of spunk and will be able to swim their way out of it.

    Cloudy water

I was just going to say this hehe! My filter floss idea was just in case you did disturb the substrate, which you didn't. That stuff is best for debris. If your water parameters do check out, it could be a bacteria bloom. In that case, not so bad and you just have to wait it out like a week...
