Yup, it works. I was al set to use medication and the more I looked at that bottle the more hesitant I became. I followed the heat and salt recommendations in the thread by Allivymar and it worked.

I have the same brown algae problem. Tank is 20 gallons and about a month old and has been fully cycled for two weeks, thanks to ML Bio-Spira. Ammo 0, Nitrite 0, Nitrate <5, temp 68F 1 Fantail Goldfish Artificial plants only.

I had a similar problem with a Rena 200 running two one inch airstones. Turns out it was the fancy Penn Plax gang valve I used. It just wouldn't pass the air. I took it out and put in two old fashioned gang valves and everything works fine, provided the airstones are set at the same depth.
