What other livestock do you have in the tank. Too many fish means high nitrates. Ditch your tap water too. What kind of test are you using?

right now I am debating on doing a buff to my tank my ph is a bit low and so is my alk, I have read that regular water changes will also equilize PH.

I think if you have low alk your PH would likely be low, If you add an alk buff it will increase the ph That is at least what I understand (could be wrong)
