You've got the right idea Kimberley. Keep doing large water changes. Be sure to use a quality dechlorinator when you do. Since your tank is pretty new, it is probably just cycling which means there isn't a whole lot to do exept keep doing water changes and wait it out. Eventually, all the levels...

Those liquid cyclers can be tricky. Do you have a test kit to check the water parameters (mainly ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate)? Depending on your current levels the tank may or may not still be cycling. The pool sand can make things a little cloudy at the start especially if it wasn't total...

Did you cycle the tank before adding fish? How many fish have you put in at once? You can always do partial water changes help clear up water a lot and you can do them whenever you want. Be sure to vacuum your substrate at least twice a week during these early stages

Moonlight! What your looking for is a light often referred to as a moon light. They usually consist of a group of blue or white LEDs. They make a cool glow in your aquarium. That small amount of light will not affect algae growth at all, and your fish shouldn't be bothered by it. Moonlights...
