Hi all, as many of you who have ever owned platies know, they like to get down. I bought three of them and in the past month I have discovered 4 fry. My tank, at this rate will not be able to handle the fish load. My Lfs will not take them for fear of disease. What do y'all recommend I do? Thanks

I don't know why people keep saying this. If you understand anything about plants you'd know that the combination of the spectrums works wonders. I even use these bulbs to grow cacti!

You can get them online on amazon.com or at petsmart or petco online or in store for $10 each

Dirt in pots count ;) and I have the same hood as you! Toss those incandescent bulbs and buy some Aqueon 50/50 daylight blue light bulbs. The plants loveee it!

I modified the Aqueon. Removed all the blue plastic crap that it came with. Filled it with all sorts of ceramic bio cylinders sponge and filter floss. It's the one made for a 30 on my ten planted so I think I'm set.

I just returned my AC. It was the worst filter I have ever used. I believe that it must have been a dud from the factory. The motor got hot and it was making a very loud grinding noise, no thank you. I returned it and bought an Aqueon quiet flow, removed all the media that came with it and...

My zebra danios (6) are the friendliest fish. They would follow your finger around the tank and go nuts if you even got close. Today however when I turned the lights on they freaked out and have been hiding ever since. Tank is heavily planted and all levels are fine. What the H haha

So do I, as long as you have black sand it's fine. The dirt settles and makes it look wicked natural
