Just dont overfeed the fry. Small amounts of food many times a day is the way to go. I only clean my gravel during water changes once a week or twice a week.

No its not a stupid question. You shouldn't have major issues switching substrate as long as your filter has matured. Maybe minir things like. Little extra algae until things settle down but nothing to stop you making tge change

I fed mine liquid egg yolk but found that quite mesdy and left uneaten food residue. With my second batch i bought some dried decapsulated brine shrimp eggs. Found tgem to be very practical. Easy to see any uneaten food and gave good growth particular in the first few weeks

I saw it done on youtube a long time ago. I guess it was done because its easier than tying with string and theres nothing to remove afterwards. Its technically easier to do but im interested on how it affects plants and whether it was worth it

I agree. Driftwood would be the better of the two if you want to pick just one. Easier for plants to sink their roots into and some fish like wood to nibble on.
