Thanks so much for the reply! I did not cycle the tank. I did use the same filter media and the old water when transferring to the larger tank, since the filter was also suitable for 25G.

I just purchased a moss ball and have been afraid to put it in with my pleco, haha. Good to hear they won't devour it!

I didn't test parameters during the 2 weeks quarantine. Maybe I should do a post-mortem water test just for my own knowledge...?

Sorry about your loss. I would definitely check the water parameters right away above all else.
