You had an algae problem and bombed it with algae chemicals? Change the water ASAP and more than 30% I would do %50, My girlfriend bombed our tank with algae killer once and it killed both my convicts and all its fry. Hope its not to late and this helps, keep me posted.

What do you mean the algal bloom has subsided. Do you have a bubbler in the tank? have you checked the ph levels or amonia levels?

Do you have a bubbler, and which fish are doing it cause I have a German Blue Ram that does the same thing with the rapid breething and shes been fine for a bout 2 weeks.

They will eat the flakes, my convicts had babies and the little things would pretty much eat anything even algae and stuff like that. But yeah flakes should work because after a period of time they get soft.

Any suggestions or inputs? Another question can I get silver dollars to use as dither fish, or are they just "Target Fish" ???
