I don't have the money to order fish and have them shipped to me, so the best I have is PetSmart. Would some type of tetra work, like an Orange Von Rio Flame Tetra or a glowlight tetra? I was thinking of having like 6 of those and maybe a couple otos or spotted corys? Not sure what fish to add...

Thanks for the understanding! I think it was because they had adjusted to the cold tank and the heat was too abrupt. Going to restock soon. Sad about the loss.

I was wondering if it is okay to put a clay cave in my aquarium for my cories? It would be Sculpey polymer clay. And you bake it to harden it. Would that be good?

My nitrate is at about 50 or 60, nitrite is 0, and ammo is going back to 0 within 24 hrs of dosing up. Should I just get one honey gourami with five endless livebearers and 3 Otos, or can I have 2?

UPDATE: tested today and ph was 6.5 and nitrite was way off charts still. Changed out three gallons and dosed ammo back to 2ppm.

Ok great! Because id say they've been up for about two weeks and maybe a couple days. And thanks for the info about water changes!! It was getting annoying, changing out ten gallons ever couple days! I will definitely report back when things start changing.

UPDATE: I have been testing and everytime it shows up off the charts I do a big water change and dose it back up to 2. I've been doing this for a while, but everytime it goes off the charts.

UPDATE: I tested the water today and the nitrite and nitrates are way up. The ammo is zero and the ph is 7. Another water change?

Ok thank both of you so much! Sorry I'm asking so many questions, but I'm fascinated with fishkeeping and want to do the best with what I have. Last question... What order should I introduce them? I've heard gouramis are sometimes a little aggressive or territorial?

Zebra danio? Or if not that other fish to add something to the tank?
