Getting annoyed with local fish stores and their white spot infested fish...

Some fish stores have certain tanks running on the same filter. One of mine literally has every other row on the same filter so when you said every other tank it reminded me of seeing the same thing once.!

    Major restocking-want more breeding!

Recently I was reading about a type of fish that is extinct in the wild and only the aquarium habit is keep the specie alive. Honestly can't remember which fish. But maybe look into fish like that where breeders make a difference for the species?

    molly with raised scales

As much as I hate to admit it I think everyone who cares for fish knows there is a time when euthanasia is the most humane option and in this case I did. The person who had it also gave me the used products including a bottle of melafix so obviously there were issues in the past, I hate to see...

    Mr Stripes losing his stripe

If those are the water parameters they should be fine. I would keep up on water changes as those fish have a big Bioload and for the time being it is quite a small tank. Some fishes striped darken when they they are stressed so maybe he's just settling in to his new surroundings.

    KOI totally AWOL

If you got a dark net that blended in and used tent stakes to hold it in place toy could easily remove it for display purposes and every so often to enjoy it without the net. Good luck! A pond would be awesome.

    molly with raised scales

She's in a small hospital tank with air stone, a little salt, and prazi because of weird feces. Going to keep an eye on it and see how it goes tomorrow.

    molly with raised scales

Hello, I'm in need of opinions. Picked up a fish today from a college girl who didn't have time for it. Its an orange and black molly, I was startled when I got there to find it in a bag of orange water which should have been a red flag....got it home and did a slow acclimation with my tank...

    PLEASE help diagnose this....parasite?

I can't help you diagnose in general but occasionally my angels pick on each other or get picked on and the fins look rough. Leaving the lights off as much as possible helps them heal tremendously. I don't know what it is about light but fin issues, for me don't heal if I'm leaving lights on. I...

    cammallanus? Some kind of butt-worm.

The only worm treatment I've found at my local fish stores is prazipro (haven't been scouring them either, its a local mom and pops) can't speak for the specific worm or if prazi treats it but that's what Ive used to treat for worms just in case, if you want to look into it. Edit to add- I've...

adding new fish: alternative to using a net?

I've used a measuring cup(like a 1/2 cup size) to scoop them out of the bag, I just hold it against the bag at an angle and let the water drain out before adding the fish to the tank.

    My first dirted bowl

There are red/burgandy/purple mystery snails that look really neat. I dunno much about other snails but check aquabid, there are usually really neat snails on there. Edited to add, while I do have mystery snails I'm not sure on the general 'rules' of filters on snail tanks...

    Puffer

I've heard they can eat fish? It's those claws man lol maybe get a separate tank for it? Not sure what size tank they need... I dunno much about ACF but fish like hatchets usually stay right at the top of the water. I dunno how much frogs come to the top...

I got blue angels from a local breeder, try and see if you can find someone in your area who breeds. They are really beautiful! I have a blue smokey and 2 blue silvers.

Just For Fun: The Dumbest Mistake You Ever Made With A Tank

Not doing weekly water changes and for some reason thinking my fish would be okay... Also over medicating. Also letting two cories loose all barbels and fins to finrot and torpedoing around the tank before realizing it was fin rot. Luckily they are both going strong in a very clean tank nowadays. ;)

What fish can I put in my tank?

If you get mystery snails keep an eye on them, I have found most fish think there feelers are worms and eat them off. Specifically keep an eye out if you go for rams.

    Chronic Re-arranger

It's hard because I have angels and Cory's and gbr and trying to have caves/rocks the angels like to hide in and an egg laying zone(gbr) and space for everyone to get away from eachother and still have swimming room is tough. It will be easier once I pick the angels I'm keeping and find homes...

    Chronic Re-arranger

I am a chronic rearranger. I dunno if that's a word... But I am. I cannot keep the same look in my tank for more then a couple weeks. I like switching it up. I've decided any live plants I keep will have to be in pots. I drive myself nuts. I do the same thing with furniture, every couple months...

    2 pups born last night

Awesome, I pretty sure they give live birth, I'm curious do the parents raise the babies? Or in the wild do they give birth and then they are on their own?
