I'm not actually sure of the gph of his sump pumps..he has two, one from an regular sump with life rock and skimmer and another is a refugium. Just to be clear too, he's only selling the contents I the tank (rock, coral) also the lights. He's still using the tank and what not.

Reef safe or not? Unknown starfish

Well I don't think they have been specifically feeding it, but it was allegedly eating star polyps.

    Trimming Zoa colony

If they're the same type of zoanthids, they could brighten up over time just like the other polyps...I'd say give it time and if not, if you could scrap them off the rock without destroying them, you could relocate them.

Reef safe or not? Unknown starfish

Hey everyone, I original posted this information in the "identification" section but did not get much feedback. Hoping to get more info...anyway, a Friend of mine bought this starfish for their tank, and I've never seen it before and at first glance it struck me as probably not reef safe lol...

Unknown starfish. Is it reef safe?

Friend of mine bought this starfish for their tank, and I've never seen it before and at first glance it struck me as probably not reef safe lol Yeah he and his wife said "yeah it sits on top of the corals sometimes" and pointed out an area of green star polyp that the star fish had allegedly...

    Sump protein skimmer suggestions

A 20 long will work, you'll just have to prepare it so that you have room for a skimmer and a possible refugium. Over skimming the tank is not necessary depending on whether or not you want to use a refugium too. In addition, soft corals, like the ones you listed, prefer a little more nutrients...

    Extra lighting

Yeah I'm trying to go for a little of both. I've been increasing the amount of time my blues are on and the growth is just crazy so I was looking to add some extra blue. Thanks though I'll check out those stunner strips.

    Extra lighting

Does anyone know of any relatively inexpensive blue led lighting that could be added to a reef tank just for some extra blue. Found some led strips on amazon cheap but not sure if they'll be sufficient. Any input?

Eshopps PSK 300 - Need pumps!

Hello everyone, Does anyone know what kind of pumps (size/manufacturer) that the Eshopps PSK 300 uses. I acquired one, but the pumps were burned out and later, not thinking, threw the pumps away. I'd really appreciate any information anyone has to offer. Thanks in advance!

    Schooling Sailfin Tangs

Yeah that's what I've been hearing that rearranging the rock work really makes a big difference. One guy said he does it every time he adds a new tang and has never had a problem. Also I was thinking that acclimating them at night while the others are sleeping with the lights off would help.

    Schooling Sailfin Tangs

Anyone have any advice and/or experience with attempting to have a school of sailfin tangs. I currently have 3 small sailfins all the same size. One is and has been in my 220 reef for about 4 months. The other two are in my quarantine (divided from one another) and I'm going to attempt to add...
