The Krib has a cave that she essentially guards herself. It'll push the corys and tetras away from it, but never chase them around the tank.

No experience with either of those fish, but I agree that Angels are good community fish that can hold their own if you buy them big. After that, I have a school of giant danios that are great, about 4in each and statistically some of the most active fish. Maybe gouramis too

The mystery snails are algae eaters and won't really eat scraps on the bottom like a Cory would. They say cories are schooling but they do perfectly fine in little groups in a small tank. It all depends if you want all individual fish or some small groups (which typically looks better).

Only 1-2? They only get about 2 inches. The algae is not a huge concern, I just have a really nice driftwood centerpiece that I think a small pleco would enjoy. As long as he's not noctural and hiding all the time, my preference would be something that stands out more, like the Bristlenose.
