    Tricky 36 Gallon Stocking

    The Krib has been alone living with corys for over 2 years... there are no problems with the current tankmates.

    Tricky 36 Gallon Stocking

    The Krib has a cave that she essentially guards herself. It'll push the corys and tetras away from it, but never chase them around the tank.

    Tricky 36 Gallon Stocking

    In my 36 gallon I currently have: 1 Kribensis 5 Black Skirt Tetra 3 Emerald Cory I've been looking to add more activity to the tank, however small schooling fish never seem to work out. I added some zebra danios and none of them made it, most of them mysteriously disappearing. I think I've been...

    LED = Heavy Algae Problem?

    I just bought 6 zebra nerite snails to start and have the light on a shorter timer (7am-3pm). I'm pretty certain that I now only have 2 otocinclus, so I'd like to know what kind of algae eater you'd recommend.

    LED = Heavy Algae Problem?

    I have a Penguin 350 and 150, each with a carbon packet to get rid of some color leeching I had early on with the wood.

    LED = Heavy Algae Problem?

    I have a 48' Fluval Aquasky LED that runs on a timer, staying on from 7am-5pm. From what I can tell, I only have 2 of my original 6 otocinclus that I bought last week. There is a large piece of driftwood in the center, theoretically could be anywhere on that. I typically have it on a "light...

    LED = Heavy Algae Problem?

    The only thing is that it's a display tank at the main lobby of a school. Is there any way to manage the algae from the inside without jeopardizing visibility? There are plenty of settings on the LED that I can test out and see if that helps, it's pretty bright right now. Suggestions on algae...

    New Tank Time! Ideas???

    Get 3 mid-size, swordtails are good. I have a pair of Bolivian Rams in my 36 bow front and they are fantastic! Charismatic, stay small, very interactive and mildly colorful

    New Community Tank Suggestions

    No experience with either of those fish, but I agree that Angels are good community fish that can hold their own if you buy them big. After that, I have a school of giant danios that are great, about 4in each and statistically some of the most active fish. Maybe gouramis too

    Tank stocking suggestions

    The mystery snails are algae eaters and won't really eat scraps on the bottom like a Cory would. They say cories are schooling but they do perfectly fine in little groups in a small tank. It all depends if you want all individual fish or some small groups (which typically looks better).

    LED = Heavy Algae Problem?

    I recently got an LED light strip for my 60 gallon freshwater tank and I've recently had big algae problems. It's at my school so I brought a glass magnet scrubber from home but that wouldn't scrape a lot of it off. There is now little speckles of red/brown on the front glass that won't rub off...

    Angelfish Pair Aggression?

    Would that just apply to a pair or would you be able to add two and have a group of 3

    Angelfish Pair Aggression?

    If not another angel, what else could I add? I have 6 gold barbs, 3 giant danio, 2 boesmani rainbows, and 2 clown loaches (ik they get big, won't be staying long term, probably get corys or angelicus botia) and plan on getting a school of oto cats for cleaning. Once again, it's 60 gallons, so I...

    Angelfish Pair Aggression?

    I have one gold angelfish in my 60 gallon. I originally bought a pair, but the other didn't eat much and I found it dead after 1 weekend. I immediately replaced that and got a striped angel, but my gold, who had grown, picked on it and that one also didn't make it over 3 days. It's been a few...

    Oto Catfish

    I have only 2 in my 36 gallon and they don't swim together at all. I have plenty of decor, rocks and plastic plants, so they always find something. Never thought about giving them anything special. They clean great though, the 2 keep a healthy amount of algae, it's never completely gone on the...

    Stocking Additions?

    Any other mid-sized bottom and middle dwellers? I don't know how much the shark needs the bottom to himself. The barbs aren't aggressive but I'd like something that I can get a small group of but not necessarily school.

    Stocking Additions?

    Yeah I'm pretty sure swordtails are just cooler platies with less color variations.

    Stocking Additions?

    Would something like German Blue Rams work? Anything similar? They're really cool and reasonably small but I'm not sure how they do in a small group of 2-3.

    Stocking Additions?

    Yeah I've heard that gouramis don't do great in pairs or small groups in general, last thing I need is something to stir up the barbs and rainbow's mild aggression. My friend has kuhlis and they hide all day and just come out to eat. My tank is pretty densely decorated so that's why I want...

    Stocking Additions?

    I've had neons in the past, they're very hardy but they would form white buildups on their mouths (just fish equivalent of scabs) and die of starvation or just disappear. I love swordtails as well and I'm just looking for a mid-sized active swimmer that I can get a small group of. I might do...

    Stocking Additions?

    I have a 36 gallon with: - 1 Rainbow Shark - 3 Denison Barb - 6 Glolight Tetra I've kept the tank this way for a long time, but it still has plenty of room and appears somewhat empty with the expection of the barbs. Any ideas for something to add? (The rainbow shark is 4+ years old, hasn't...

    Bristlenose Pleco Reviews?

    Well, its in a high school main lobby meeting room. My local store had only tiny bristlenose, probably 1/2 an inch. He'd definetly get either lost in the tank or get immediately eaten by the giant danios. I ended up getting a Rubber Pleco, which I was told grows to a similar size and has very...

    Bristlenose Pleco Reviews?

    The tank is at a school, so that's good to know that they're not too shy. Something big and unique like the bristlenose will really be popular. Poop isn't much of a problem, nothing else in there really does much in that regard so it should be managable. How big should I buy? Will he be bullied...

    Bristlenose Pleco Reviews?

    Only 1-2? They only get about 2 inches. The algae is not a huge concern, I just have a really nice driftwood centerpiece that I think a small pleco would enjoy. As long as he's not noctural and hiding all the time, my preference would be something that stands out more, like the Bristlenose.

    Bristlenose Pleco Reviews?

    I know ottos are really small, how many would I need for a 60 gallon with my stocking? I really like how the bristlenose looks and I feel he'd get much more attention than a giant school of tiny things. My main concern is the shyness, I would like to see it out in the open as much as possible...
