    African Dwarf Frog Attacks

20gal and the frogs have a big flat driftwood chunk they burrow under all the time. I have 1 bn pleco about 2inches long and 1 highfin spotted pleco baby about 2inches as well, maybe a bit smaller. I also have a couple different Molly fish swimming about and 2 baby clown loach, each also about...

    African Dwarf Frog Attacks

I have had 5 adf in my tank since December, well, 4 now that one disappeared one weekend. None of the little guys have shown signs of aggression but recently, we noticed our 2 plecos were beginning to have torn fins/tails as well as a couple of our mollies. After paying very close attention we...

    Molly Profile

I just had a cremecicle lyretail molly birth about 20 fry, she has been squared off since I bought her in December. They are Orange, black striped, black speckled, and some have spots of red to them as well. The only male I know of in my tank is my black sailfin, but would he mate with a...

Thank you so much!! I Google imaged those species and they look the exact same as my two, even down to the yellow spot on the blue ones back bottom fins :-)

    id help, please

These little guys were just listed as "assorted cichlid" in the store, any ideas on who they may be? I'm new to cichlids and these guys were an impulse buy when I saw them being bullied in the store tank. The yellow one is tiny and hasn't grown much, about an inch long. The blue one is growing...

I want to switch from gravel to sand...

Thank you so much for the advice. I want to switch because I read sand is better for the fish than gravel. I also have a couple of little beginner plants and I think they'd do better in sand as well. Sand also seems to look cleaner than white gravel which shows really clearly where any un-eaten...

    Chinese Algae Eater by BearFan

I used to have one of these guys, the store said he wouldn't become aggressive until he was fully grown... WRONG!! He was extremely aggressive towards every single other thing in our tank so we moved him to a little tank of his own to bring him to a shop that takes in unwanted fish. The next...

    Molly Fry... Help

I agree with cinnamon. Most will find places to hide and be left alone unless you have especially aggressive fish. I wouldn't waste the energy and money setting up a new tank for the fry, unless that is you plan on keeping all 32 because they'll need a lot of room for growing up.

    Molly Fry... Help

When I unknowingly purchased a pregnant Black Molly I just left her fry in my tank, she only had about 12 live though, the rest were still born and were removed. All of the living fry found hiding spots and survived, we gave all but 4 away to friends. They pretty much just picked tiny bits of...

I want to switch from gravel to sand...

I have read that the best way to make this switch is to use a 2L bottle and to only change a third of the tank floor at a time at least a week apart. Is this the best/easiest way to do so? Also, is it difficult to clean sand or is it the same technique as gravel vacuuming? Thank you! :-)

    gourami help :-(

He actually started acting totally normal again :-) and we have been watching the danios (we sit and watch our tank for hours lol) and they don't seem to be the meanies, it's our Molly fry but they are finally going to a new home tomorrow, our friend finally bought a tank for them. How could I...

    gourami help :-(

It is 20 gallons and has been up since November. Oh no! So the danios could be eating his feelers?! That is annoying... Would feeding them more stop this? Because I really don't want more danio if they are potentially going to also nibble on him also. Would this cause him to be off balance? I...

    gourami help :-(

My super healthy and active dg has recently begun losing his antennae fin things :-( they are really thin on the ends and look split and he isn't acting like his normal little self. He is just hanging out by the heater at the surface, he did swim over to an algae disc and munched on it when I...

    curious about GloFish...

Also, about the breeding. I read online that because they are trademarked by the company that engineered them that it is illegal to breed them. Is this true? Or would that only apply to fish stores who sell the fish? Because I mean how can you just tell Mother Nature to stop for some fake law...

    curious about GloFish...

Ha ha yeah we only feed our tank once a day but they are always finding things to pick at. Do your fish bother your shrimp at all? I think they are so neat but I was afraid they would just become a snack so we ended up with African dwarf frogs instead ha ha such cute little things.

    curious about GloFish...

I don't think they are filled with eggs, I think they are just little piggies. I have mollies that look pregnant also but they have just stayed fat since I got them. Also, my snails tripled in size within a week of bringing them home. I'm beginning to just think there is some sort of fish...

    curious about GloFish...

The big pink one has been fat since I'd have to say December. The blue one plumed up last month. How could I tell if they have eggs inside or are just fat? I always think all of my fish are pregnant but no one ever has babies or lays eggs and they all just stay fat. I kind of think they are just...

    curious about GloFish...

I have 3 GloFish Danio, 2 pink and 1 blue. I am curious if males are smaller and skinner than females or if they are supposed to look the same? Because one of my pinks and my blue are both growing larger and have rounded bellies while my second pink one is staying smaller and has a very straight...

    ich?

Thank you to all who have commented on here. My angelfish sadly developed columnaris (i think that was what they called it at the store) and died last night after 2 days of anti-fungal treatment we added to our tank :-( all of our other fish are spotless and remain healthy but we are going to...

    ich?

I may be getting excited early but I purchased a better heater and turned it up to 86 and my angelfish actually looks like most of her white spots are either shrinking or have disappeared all together. I vacuumed out the gravel and 30% of the water as well. The fish seem to like the hotter...

    ich?

Yes, it rubs on a piece of driftwood I have and bounces back off usually with it's belly but sometimes with it's side fins. I can't see any spots though.
