Suggestion on where to buy LR online...

Per my previous post LR.com is out of business... for at least a year. I need to buy some LR soon. I used LR.com in the past per suggestions I saw on this website... and I loved it and the service. Can someone recommend another online retailer of LR that has provided a positive experience...

    re-cycle?

I have lost my only two fish (complete disappearance). Although I was warned on this forum, I left several hitch-hiker crabs on my LR.com shipment and I believe they have assisinated by clown and blenny. My question is do I need to cycle the tank again? The fish had been in the tank for almost 6...

    Adding perc clown

I have one small black/white perc clown. I want to add another to the tank. The existing clown has been in the tank for 4 months. Can I add another perc clown (orange/white)? Does it need to be smaller? I dont want them to nip at each other. Any suggestions. Thank you

    Algae blenny diet

How do I know if my algae blenny is getting enough food. He is scraping at the glass a lot and at the LR some. Do I need to give him nori too or is what he is getting off the glass enough? Thanks, Don

Coral Beauty - reef safe Y/N?

I have seen some online fish stores say that it is reef safe... but on this site I have read in the profile that they can eat soft corals. Could anyone share their experiences with this fish in reef tanks. Thanks

    Pistol shrimp digging

Thank you for the reply. The tank has been up for almost 4 months. The LR that the shrimp hitch-hiked on was introduced to the tank at that time to start the cycle. The tank size 46 gallon bow front. I started with 50lbs of live sand. I believe the sand bed is at least 2 inches. There was no...

    Pistol shrimp digging

I have a caribean pistol shrimp hitch-hiker that came with my LR.com shipment. As of late it has gotten much bigger and is really digging up my sand bed under and around the live rock. It appears he is tunneling under all the base LR and he is pushing around piles of sand. Is it a problem that...

    Sump for increased water volume

I am considering adding a sump for the sole purpose of adding more water volume and LR. My current set up is a 46 bowfront, 2 maxijet 1200 PHs, Remora PRO skimmer, and canister filter with LR rubble only in it. I have 60 lbs of LR. I am thinking of adding a simple 10gal min sump using an...

    Lawnmower blenny

Exactly the same with mine too. He never goes for the hair algae. He likes to pick at snails, equipment, live rock without hair, and the glass. I tried nori and the snails were the only ones to enjoy it.

    Algae help

lawnmower blenny please see the below thread. I added a lawnmower blenny per the suggestion. He is great... so much character. Unfortunately there is not much algae any more. The snails have eaten most of it. I see the blenny eating off rocks/glass where there is not any algae... but not where...

    Salt water from ocean

Hi, I live in Miami and have access to the Atlantic via our boat (not just Biscayne Bay but actually offshore). I have been told by someone that actual ocean water is preferable as it contains all the trace elements etc. etc. I have also read the same on another website. I do remember seeing...

    Algae help

My tank has been up and running for 6 weeks. I have 46 bow with 2 maxi 1200, remora pro, canister for flow only, and 196W coral life lighting. I have 60 lbs (40 keys, 20 base) from LR.com. For water changes I use pre-made from the LFS. For top off I use distilled water. Over the past two weeks...

    Percula clown behavior

The bad was not left unopened for the 45 mins. The fish did eat a little frozen brine yesterday... but not much. Only what floated near it. I could swear that it sees itself in the glass. It still stays near the glass at all times and seems to try to swin at its reflection. Thanks, Don
