    ICH

First if you have anything that is sensitive to copper, like snails, obviously this wouldn't be a good fix for you. I have put a piece of copper piping in my filter and have never had a problem with ICH. The owner of the LFS told me about this. He said when he was a child they would just put...

if it is a parasite yes it would be. If you were seeing the white poo then i would be more worried. it may just be a picky eater. get a treat like frozen brine shrimp. see if he keeps it down. you are going to want the 16g working. if for no other reason saving money on meds in the future. Plus...

    Ngara Flametail Peacock not eating

well my experience is EBJDs and that would tell me i had one with internal parasites. Not saying that is what your fish has, but not eating only leads to death. Do you still have the 16g?

    Chlorine problem

Possible it was a bad test. That makes more sense to me than the level going up without new water. if you still have the established tank, once you get the chlorine under control. do about 20% water change adding the established tank water. I would think the chlorine would have killed most of...

Cichlids hide a lot especially when they are scared. You could redo you tank try and break it up make a specific territory for each fish or pair. If he is hiding any way you could hand feed him? Maybe get some krill or meal worms to hand feed him?

    Chlorine problem

am at a loss of how the level would go up without new water. just fyi if you don't have old tank water (like from an established tank) it pays to have patients and just let the tank set up. the water itself has to go thru cycles. adding fish to early may look like it works at first but you may...

sounds like he's getting bullied. so he is stressed.... stress kills. if you can move him to a tank by himself. if you have no other tanks add more hiding places. he needs a territory to feel comfortable

Well sounds like he has a lot of competition. when you feed does he try for the food? does he hide? if he does get food does he just chew it and spit it out? (but not actually eat any of it)

    Oscar Help Please!

in my experience cichlids change color based on mood, water conditions, even their hierarchy. So I wouldn’t worry to much if he is acting normal. If it was a white spot I would worry.

    Chlorine problem

Are you doing water changes or something. Chlorine will evaporate from water. So I’m confused on how it would go up if you're not adding water.

125 gallon predatory and south/central Americans.

what fish do you currently have? I love EBJDs but you want a UV system on the tank and nothing in it that would compete with them.

what i have done is soak and soak and soak until the water isn't very brown. you can't boil it but use hot water. like convict said find a container for it. they even make some long storage containers (like the ones that fit under your bed) that would save you some water if you could find one...

    decor

you will want to soak it in really hot water or boil like suggested. not only to kill anything on it but also it can make your water brown.
